Western USA & Pacific Northwest - Self-Drive Holidays Southwestern Wonders Utah Colorado 14 Days Phoenix - Phoenix Departures: Daily (01Apr08-31Oct08) Day 1: Arrive Phoenix Arrive into Phoenix Airport and collect your rental car before making your way to your hotel and checking in to your hotel for the evening. Days 2 & 3: Scottsdale - Tucson (112 miles) Travel south to the resort destination of Tucson. Ringed by stunning scenery such as Saguaro National Park, the city itself boasts a bustling downtown area. Day 4: Tucson - Las Cruces (242 miles) From Tucson head to Las Cruces, a long standing trading point between Mexico and the USA. Within the city limits is Old Mesilla, a small, unique Mexican hamlet. Day 5: Las Cruces - Albuquerque (192 miles) Todays destination is Albuquerque, which sits on the famed Route 66! Get your dose of Americana here on its downtown neon strip. Days 6 & 7: Albuquerque - Santa Fe (54 miles) Leave for the unique city of Santa Fe, where each building is painted one of the seven shades of adobe to blend in with the surrounding countryside. Santa Fe itself boasts a wealth of galleries, museums, shops and restaurants as well a vibrant native American/Hispanic culture. Days 8 & 9: Santa Fe - Durango (258 miles) Historic downtown Durango beckons today. Its Wild West façade conjures up a bygone era and the swing door saloons fit well alongside art galleries, boutique hotels and fine dining establishments. From Durango you can take one of the Wests most scenic train rides to Silverton. Day 10: Durango - Monument Valley (206 miles) Monument Valley is where John Wayne filmed many of his westerns and the eerie but breathtaking landscape is sure Grand Canyon Monument Valley ² Durango Sedona Arizona Scottsdale/ Phoenix ² Santa Fe Albuquerque New Mexico Tucson to evoke different memories for everyone who visits here, whether its the front cover of an Eagles album or where Forrest Gump turned around. Days 11 & 12: Monument Valley - Grand Canyon (168 miles) From one natural wonder to possibly the most famous of them all the Grand Canyon. For millennia, the Colorado River has forged this gigantic chasm in the Earths crust to come up with one of the worlds most recognisable places. Hike, bike, or ride a horse, the Grand Canyon offers something for everyone. Day 13: Grand Canyon - Sedona (120 miles) Head to Sedona today where you will spend the night. After the magnificence of the Grand Canyon, Sedona offers a more relaxed environment. Day 14: Sedona - Phoenix/Scottsdale (150 miles) Your tour ends today. Return your car back to the depot by the time it was picked up on Day 1 to avoid any extra rental charges. From Sea to Sky Self-Drive 11 Days Seattle - Seattle British Columbia CANADA Alberta Banff National Park Kamloops Vancouver Glacier National Park Washington Seattle Spokane Glacier National Park, Montana Vancouver City Departures: Daily (15May08-15Sep08) Days 1 & 2: Seattle Arrive at Seattle Airport and pick up your Alamo rental car to drive to your downtown hotel. Explore at your own pace, but dont miss the views from the top of the Space Needle. Days 3 & 4: Seattle - Vancouver (140 miles) Heading north, cross the Canadian border for a two-night stay in beautiful Vancouver to visit attractions such as Stanley Park and the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Day 5: Vancouver - Kamloops (216 miles) Follow the Fraser River Valley past the thundering waters of Hells Gate and into British Columbias interior, for an overnight stay in the rugged town of Kamloops. Days 6 & 7: Kamloops - Canmore/Banff (297 miles) Drive through Mount Revelstoke, Glacier and Yoho National Parks and stop for photographs at scenic Lake Louise. With a two-night stay in the Banff area, you have plenty of time to explore its many natural attractions. Day 8: Canmore/Banff - Glacier National Park (295 miles) Head south past Calgary and cross back into the USA for a visit to Montanas stunning Glacier National Park. Drive along the spectacular Going-to-the-Sun Road. Day 9: Kalispell - Spokane (238 miles) Cross the slender northern part of Idaho for a visit to the resort of Coeur dAlene, with time for a lake cruise, before heading back into Washington State for an overnight stay in the historic town of Spokane. Day 10: Spokane - Seattle (280 miles) Take the interstate across Snoqualmie Pass or the forest route through the Cascade Mountains, back to Seattle. Day 11: Seattle Departure Your tour concludes on check-out from your hotel. Return your Alamo car by the same time you picked it up on day one to avoid any additional charges.
