DAY 1 Dover Join Athena in time for our 3.30pm sailing. DAY 2 Cruising at sea DAY 3 La Coruna Spain Arrive 1330 Depart 1930 Douro river means a visit to this city isn't complete without enjoying a relaxing cruise down the river. A visit to the wine cellars to sample the locally produced port is also a must! DAY 5 Cruising at sea DAY 6 Funchal Madeira Arrive 1100 Depart 1800 Known as the `Floating Garden', Madeira is famous for it's spectacular landscapes, traditional villages and its tropical flowers. From the pretty capital Funchal our range of shore excursions will show you the island's natural beauty. DAY 7 La Palma Canaries Arrive 1100 Depart 1800 We reach the Canary Islands today and call at Santa Cruz, the main town of the island of La Palma. A maze of cobbled streets lead away from a seafront lined with elegant balconied houses. Look out for the Church of San Salvador with its elegant Mudejar coffered ceiling and the full-scale replica of Columbus' flagship, the Santa Maria. The national park of the Caldera de Taburiente dominates Las Palmas and is worth a visit, a spectacular volcanic landscape of rugged cliffs, pine forests and glittering streams. DAY 8 Lanzarote Canaries Arrive 1030 Depart 2200 Our cruise brings us to Arrecife, the capital of Lanzarote. It's a quiet and beautiful port city with a historic centre full of shops, museums and attractive buildings.
