This delightful holiday gives you a fascinating insight into the sophistication and beauty of Canada's principal cities: Montreal, a major port and Canada's second city; Quebec City, the bastion of French influence and culture; and finally Toronto, Canada's largest city, situated on the northern shores of Lake Ontario. We include tours of all three cities plus a visit to the magnificent Niagara Falls.
YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Depart on your scheduled flight to Montreal. On arrival transfer to your hotel for a three night stay. DAY 2 - Montreal is a magnificent city famous for its parks, cobbled streets and historic sites. A morning sightseeing tour is included taking you to Mount Royal, Old Montreal, St. Lawrence Seaway and Notre Dame Cathedral. Afternoon free to explore further. DAY 3 - Included full day excursion to Quebec City with a sightseeing tour of the old city. Quebec City stands proudly on the mighty St. Lawrence River. It is a city of winding cobbled streets, ancient churches and stone buildings. Famous sights include the Cathedral, Château Frontenac, the Basilica, the giant star-shaped Citadel, and the Plains of Abraham, scene of the decisive battle in 1759 between the French and the English for the control of Canada. DAY 4 - Depart Montreal and drive to Ottawa, an elegant city situated on the Rideau Canal. Its main attractions are the Parliament Buildings and the Château Laurier Hotel. Continue along the shores of Lake Ontario to Toronto for a three night stay. DAY 5 - Toronto is Canada's commercial and cultural centre. It is dominated by the 1,815ft high CN Tower, the world's tallest free-standing structure. We include a morning city sightseeing tour, featuring the Sky Dome, the City Hall and Parliament Building. Stop at the CN Tower and take an optional ride to the top for terrific views. DAY 6 - Included full day tour to Niagara Falls. The Falls are divided into two parts, the Canadian and the American Falls. The Canadian Falls are larger, 180ft high with a crest of 2,200ft forming a horseshoe-shaped curve. For a close-up view join our optional excursion and don waterproof clothing for a ride on the `Maid of the Mist' close to the thundering waters (operates mid-May to mid-October) or take a thrilling helicopter ride. DAY 7 - Free time in Toronto before continuing to the airport for your return flight to the UK. DAY 8 - Arrival in the UK.
