YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Depart on your scheduled flight to Nashville. On arrival transfer to your hotel for a three night stay. DAY 2 - Nashville is both the capital of Tennessee and the country music capital of the world, and is often referred to as the `Athens of the South' because of its full-size replica of the Parthenon. It is a wonderful place with a pleasant climate and a fantastic standard of living, costs being comparably less than many other US cities. We have included a full day sightseeing tour of Nashville with visits to Fort Nashborough, the original site of the city's pioneer settlement, and the Parthenon replica. You will visit the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum which provides a complete overview of the genre with more than 3,000 items from country music's greatest stars. From Hank Williams to Garth Brooks, the museum features themed exhibits, interactive computers and an in-depth look at the personalities that have shaped the industry. You will also visit Studio B, known as the `home of a thousand hits', which has launched more hit records than any other US recording studio, including those of Roy Orbison, the Everly Brothers, Dolly Parton and Elvis Presley. DAY 3 - Today is free for individual sightseeing. We will also be offering a number of optional excursions. You can visit the legendary Grand Ole Opry, radio's longest running live show. It has been broadcast since 1925 and showcases the best in country music. Alternatively, take a tour of the world famous Jack Daniel's Whiskey Distillery, the oldest registered distillery in America. DAY 4 - Morning departure for the easy drive to Memphis, with a stop at the Jackson home of Casey Jones, America's most famous railroad engineer. On arrival transfer to your hotel for a two night stay. DAY 5 - Memphis stands proudly on the bluffs of the mighty Mississippi and is known as the `Home of the Blues' and the home of Elvis Presley, `The King of Rock and Roll'. It is a city of fun and magic, offering a wealth of activities to enjoy. From musical legends to American history and culture, Memphis boasts an array of attractions that showcase the city's rich heritage. We include a full day sightseeing tour of Memphis visiting the famous Riverfront and Beale Street (the birthplace of the blues). Visits will be made to Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley. Your entry ticket entitles you to visit all of the exhibits including a tour of the mansion and a visit to the Meditation Garden where Elvis is laid to rest. You will also visit Sun Studios. There will be an optional excursion available to visit a club on Beale Street where dinner and an evening of blues entertainment is included. DAY 6 - Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. DAY 7 - Arrival in the UK.
