Still the perfect fortnight's holiday, it brings all your dreams of America to life. YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Depart on your scheduled flight to Los Angeles. On arrival transfer to your hotel, well situated for visiting the attractions of Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Universal Studios, for a two night stay. DAY 2 - Free in Los Angeles. LA is one of America's most exciting cities; an outrageous amalgam of almost a hundred townships sprawling over 4,000 square miles, and is, of course, the home of the Hollywood Movie Industry. There is plenty to see and do. You can take a full day tour through luxurious Beverly Hills to the main Los Angeles downtown area, visit the famous Farmers' Market, and then spend the afternoon in Universal Studios. Or you can visit the fabulous beaches at Santa Monica. DAY 3 - Morning departure for the drive across the city for a visit to Disneyland. Entrance to all the attractions is included in the holiday price! World-famous Disneyland is a truly gigantic fantasy complex where you can meet the famous Disney characters including, of course, Mickey Mouse himself. During the late afternoon you will take the short drive southwards to the beautiful seaport of San Diego, where accommodation for two nights has been arranged. DAY 4 - A morning sightseeing tour of San Diego is included. The rest of the day is free to enjoy the splendours of San Diego a delightful seaport with a marked Spanish influence. You could take a boat trip around the fine natural harbour (home of the US 5th Fleet) or visit the zoo, which is one of the finest in the world. Other attractions include Balboa Park, Old San Diego and the renowned Sea World home of Shamu, the performing killer whale. Alternatively, the Pacific Ocean with its beautiful sandy beaches is close by. DAY 5 - A drive through the spectacular desert countryside, crossing the border at Yuma into the state of Arizona. Continue to the `Valley of the Sun' and Scottsdale, a fashionable resort on the outskirts of Phoenix. Accommodation for two nights has been arranged. DAY 6 - Free to relax and soak up the sunshine in the opulent surroundings of your hotel, set against the backdrop of the shimmering desert. Your hotel features a swimming pool, bar and restaurant. Shopping in Scottsdale is quite excellent, particularly for Indian tribal craftsmanship. DAY 7 - Depart Scottsdale to drive northwards into Northern Arizona. First stop is at Montezuma's Castle, a remarkable 1,000 yearold Indian dwelling carved out of a rocky hillside. Continue to the fashionable artists' township of Sedona, beautifully situated against a backdrop of dazzling pink wind-carved outcrops of rock. You will then drive through spectacular Oak Creek Canyon before arriving in the former wild west town of Flagstaff for an overnight stay. DAY 8 - Depart Flagstaff for the drive to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon where you will be able to absorb the majestic beauty of one of the greatest natural wonders of the world. The Colorado River took seven million years to cut this spectacular 14 mile-wide gorge, with a panorama of staggering depths, strange rock forms and brilliant colours that change with the sun.
