We will send confirmation of your booking in the post within a couple of days  its that easy. Or, if you prefer, you can send us a cheque made payable to Travelsphere Ltd. We will hold your booking for a few days to give you enough time to do this. Simply complete the remittance slip attached to the enclosed envelope and return. The holiday contract is subject to English law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts and is created 14 days following your receipt of the Confirmation Invoice. Please also note the following information. Peace of mind and protection for your money - We are a fully bonded members of the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA number V5874). We also hold an Air Travel Organisers Licence issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (ATOL number 1091). Holidays including air travel are ATOL protected by the CAA and holidays not including air travel are protected by ABTA. In the very unlikely event of our insolvency you would be refunded any money that you have already paid us. Repatriation - All tour operators are required by law to state arrangements for the repatriation of customers in the event of insolvency. All holidays including flights are ATOL protected and in the unlikely event of our insolvency, the CAA will ensure that you are not stranded abroad. If your holiday does not include flights ABTA will protect your holiday in the same way. Our Price Promise - All prices in this brochure are valid until end of May 2008 (subject to the conditions below) when they may be superseded by revised dates and prices featured in new brochures. We reserve the right to change prices from time to time. Accordingly, it is possible that when you book your holiday the actual price may have gone up or down. If the price of your holiday has changed, the correct price will be confirmed at the time of booking. We reserve the right to correct errors at any time prior to the price being confirmed at the time of booking. Once you have made your booking and paid a deposit and the price of your chosen holiday has been confirmed on your Confirmation Invoice, we will only increase or decrease it in the following circumstances. Price increases or decreases after booking will be passed on by way of a surcharge or refund. A surcharge or refund (as applicable) will be payable, subject to the conditions set out in this clause, where our transportation costs (e.g. aviation insurance and security levy, fuel, scheduled airfares and any other airline surcharges which are part of the contract between airlines (and their agents) and the tour operator) and/or any dues, taxes or fees payable for services such as landing taxes or embarkation or disembarkation fees at ports or airports increase or decrease or where our costs increase or decrease as a result of any changes in the exchange rates which have been used to calculate the cost of your holiday. Even in the above cases, we will absorb increased costs up to a total amount equivalent to 2% of the cost of your confirmed holiday (excluding insurance premiums and any amendment charges). Only if the increased costs exceed this 2% will we levy a surcharge. In either case, there will be an administration charge of £1 per person. If any surcharge is greater then 10% of the cost of your holiday (excluding insurance premiums, any amendment charges and administration charges), you will be entitled to cancel your booking and receive a full refund of all monies paid to us (except for any amendment charges) or alternatively purchase another holiday from us. A refund will only be payable if the decrease in our above costs exceeds 2% as set out above. Where a refund is due, we will pay you the full amount of the decrease of our costs. We promise not to surcharge once you have paid your final balance for the holiday. CLIMATES The following climate information has temperatures supplied in Fahrenheit. Please use the approximate conversions below as your guide to Centigrade: °F 40 45 50 55 60 65 70 75 80 85 °C 4 7 10 13 16 18 21 24 27 29 China: In the winter months in Beijing, the days will be sunny, but cold and crisp, and warm clothing is necessary. Further south, in the central region of China, winters are much milder. For example, average daily temperatures in Xian, Chongqing and the Yangtze Gorges are 50-60°F. April, early May, September and October are beautifully warm and sunny in Beijing, Xian, Nanjing and Shanghai with daytime temperatures reaching the upper 60s. Late May to August will be quite hot, with daytime temperatures reaching the upper 80s especially in Xian and Nanjing, which can be quite humid, as can Chongqing and the Yangtze Gorges. Chengdu and Wolong have a subtropical climate with an annual average temperature of 64°F. Average temperatures in Jiuzhaigou and the Yellow Mountains range from 50°F in April and October to 65°F in high summer. If you are taking the add-on to the Ice Festival in Harbin, especially warm clothing should be worn. Average daily temperatures are well below freezing point. A warm hat and gloves are essential, and we recommend thermal underwear. For more advice see our fact sheet. Kunming enjoys a year-round temperature above 60°F, whilst the higher region of Yunnan Province has cooler summers (average 65°F) and cold winters. The weather will be hot and humid in Guilin with rain showers expected throughout the year. The area is at its greenest between April and October. The average temperature for the year is 67°F, with a July average of 83°F. Hong Kong: Hong Kong can have the occasional cold spell during the winter, but in general is warmer than most of China due to its southerly situation. Average temperatures range between 70-80°F throughout the year. There may also be occasional rain showers, which tend to be torrential but brief, and are usually followed by brilliant sunshine. Snow and frost are virtually unknown. PASSPORTS It is essential for British citizens to possess a full ten year passport, valid for at least six months beyond the holiday return date. If you do not have a passport, you should enquire at your local main Post Office or nearest Passport Office at least three months before departure. If you require a visa for your chosen destination and you have to apply for a new passport we must have the correct passport number or your visa will be invalid. Please note: If you are 16 or over and havent yet got a passport, our recommendation is that you should apply for one at least three months before your holiday. The UK Passport Service has to confirm your identity before issuing your first passport and will ask you to attend an interview in order to do this. VISA REQUIREMENTS British citizens who hold a British passport need a visa to visit China. The application for this visa has to be co-ordinated by ourselves, the UK tour operator. The charge for this, levied by the Chinese Embassy in London, together with a small administration fee, is £45 per person which will be paid by us and added to your invoice. We will obtain a visa for you using information supplied at the time of booking. Please note: In certain cases it may be necessary for us to obtain an individual visa rather than a group visa. As part of this application process we will require your passport up to eight weeks before travel. If you hold any other type of passport, it is your responsibility to check passport and visa requirements with the Chinese embassy. We are unable to accept any responsibility if you cannot travel because you are not granted a visa.
