Our comprehensive tours of China ensure that you see all the major sights. If, however, youd like to travel further afield and see even more of this wonderful country, take a look at our great range of remarkable add-ons.
All our add-ons are designed to follow directly from, or dovetail into, either the Beijing, Xian & Chengde or Discover China tours shown on pages 6-9. Simply choose your preferred add-on itinerary and book it in conjunction with your chosen tour. Our Holiday Advisors will be happy to discuss your requirements. The tour prices quoted on the next four pages are supplements to the main tour prices, and cannot be booked separately. The Yangtze add-on tour can also be booked in conjunction with our Wonders of China tour (see pages 10-11). The Hong Kong add-on tour can also be booked in conjunction with our Silk Route tour on pages 18-19 and our Chinas Shangri-la tour pages 22-23 Beijing to Hong Kong by train can also be booked in conjunction with our Silk Route tour on pages 18-19. Those on our Chinas Shangri-La tour on pages 22-23 can take advantage of our Yangtze Gorges, Panda Explorer or Hong Kong add-ons.
CAPTION HARBIN ICE FESTIVAL

YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - For those on our Beijing, Xian & Chengde tour, this will be Day 9 (page 7) of your itinerary. On your return to Beijing, you will connect directly with the flight to Harbin. For those on our Discover China tour, this will be Day 14 (page 9). Afternoon flight to Harbin. Transfer on arrival to your centrally situated hotel for a three night stay. DAY 2 - Morning visit to the frozen River Songhua to witness the daily dip taken by hardy locals in a large hole cut in the ice. Sightseeing in Harbin includes St. Sophia Cathedral and the underground shopping streets, converted from nuclear air raid tunnels. Later, visit Zhaolin Park to see the Ice Lantern Festival. DAY 3 - Morning drive to nearby Sun Island to see the acres of wonderful snow carvings, followed by a visit to an exceptional collection of Manchurian tigers. Watch an ice carving demonstration, dinner at the Huamei restaurant and a visit to the Ice and Snow World park. DAY 4 - Morning at leisure before afternoon flight to Beijing for your last night as per your original itinerary. Special Note: Winter temperatures in Harbin are constantly well below freezing, hence the Ice Festival, so take appropriate clothing. See general information in the enclosed Important Information booklet. YOUR HOTEL You will stay in a comfortable modern hotel such as the Gloria Inn, which has a restaurant and heated/air-conditioned rooms with private facilities. The attractive and lively city of Harbin, situated in deepest Manchuria in NorthEast China, is home every winter to a spectacular festival of ice and snow carvings. Some of the fanciful sculptures are gigantic, over 70ft high, and you can go inside them. It really has to be seen to be believed.
