Your ItInerarY SunDaY 21st - Depart on your scheduled flight to Bangkok. MonDaY 22nd - Arrival in Bangkok. Transfer to your hotel for a four night stay. tueSDaY 23rd - Included morning sightseeing tour of Bangkok, visiting the famous Golden Buddha and Reclining Buddha temples. In the afternoon you will visit the Rose Gardens, where many aspects of Thai culture are on display. During the evening there will be an included special Thai dinner, with a performance of traditional dancing. cHrIStMaS eVe - This morning you will have the opportunity to visit the floating market at Damnern Saduak. This afternoon we have included a visit to The Grand Palace, where the kings of Bangkok resided. Here you will see the exquisite Emerald Buddha Temple. cHrIStMaS DaY - Free in Bangkok for individual sightseeing and shopping. An optional excursion will be available to visit Kanchanaburi on the River Kwai, site of the infamous bridge and the start of the Death Railway. The tour includes a ride on the railway itself. BoXInG DaY - Today is the start of your overland drive into up-country Thailand. Depart Bangkok for Uthai Thani, before continuing to Phitsanulok for an overnight stay. SaturDaY 27th - You will drive to Sukhothai and Si Satachanalai, two former capitals of Siam, then through jungle clad hills to Chiang Rai, where you stay for two nights. SunDaY 28th - This morning will be spent exploring some of the villages which are home to the tribes of this mountainous area. Visit Mae Sai, the most northerly point of Thailand, located on the border with Burma. During the afternoon a stop will be made at Chiang Saen, a ruined city sat on the banks of the Mekong River. An optional boat ride is available. MonDaY 29th - Morning departure for the drive to Chiang Mai. En route visit the magnificent Doi Suthep Temple. Two nights accommodation has been arranged in the area. tueSDaY 30th - Today you visit an elephant camp on the outskirts of Chiang Mai, where you will see a demonstration of working elephants and have the chance to take an elephant ride. During the afternoon a trip will be made to the many cottage industries for which Chiang Mai is famous. These include silk, paper umbrellas, silverware, lacquer ware and jewellery. neW YearS eVe - Transfer to the airport for the return flight to Bangkok. Transfer by coach to the beach resort of Cha am, where you will spend four nights beside the relaxing waters of the Gulf of Thailand, enjoying the lush surroundings of your hotel. This evening enjoy a Gala New Years Eve dinner. neW YearS DaY to SaturDaY 3rd JanuarY 2009 - Free to relax, enjoy the sunshine or join an optional excursion. SunDaY 4th - Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK, arriving the same day.
