Your ItInerarY tHurSDaY 18th to 20th - Depart on your scheduled flight to New Zealand. Because you cross the International Dateline you will arrive in Auckland in the morning of the 20th. You will stay in Auckland for two nights. SunDaY 21st - Today we include a tour of the beautiful city of Auckland. MonDaY 22nd - Journey north along the Hibiscus Coast to the beautiful Bay of Islands, stopping at the Matakohe Kauri Museum en route. This afternoon, take the opportunity to visit the Treaty House of Waitingi. Stay in Paihia for two nights. tueSDaY 23rd - Full day optional excursion to Cape Reinga, described as one of the finest scenic day tours in the world. cHrIStMaS eVe - This morning join an optional cruise to Cape Brett, and this afternoon travel south to the picturesque Whangerei Town Basin, returning to Auckland for an overnight stay. FrIDaY 2nd JanuarY 2009 - Explore Queenstown at your leisure or take one of the optional excursions on offer. SaturDaY 3rd - Depart Queenstown and drive into the heart of Central Otago to Dunedin. You will enjoy a city tour before transferring to your hotel for an overnight stay. SunDaY 4th - This morning you travel north, stopping at the Moeraki beach boulders. You will then follow the Waitiki River inland to Mount Cook. Optional scenic flights will be available before continuing to Omarama for an overnight stop. MonDaY 5th - This morning you cross Burkes Pass to Lake Tekapo. You will then continue across the Canterbury Plains and return to Christchurch. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel for a two night stay. tueSDaY 6th - Today will be free to explore the city. WeDneSDaY 7th & tHurSDaY 8th Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK, re-crossing the International Dateline, arriving the next day. cHrIStMaS DaY - Your journey today takes you south to the world-famous Waitomo Caves, where weve included a guided tour of the glow worm grotto before continuing to Rotorua for a two night stay. Enjoy a special Christmas dinner tonight. BoXInG DaY - Morning included visit to Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve. Optional afternoon excursion to the Agrodome and a visit to Rainbow Springs. During the evening there will be an opportunity to visit a Maori Concert and Hangi. SaturDaY 27th - Drive south through the Wairakei Valley, past the spectacular Huka Falls to Lake Taupo. Continue to Wellington, for a city tour and overnight stay. SunDaY 28th - Today you will sail from North Island to South Island, through the picturesque Cook Strait to Picton. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay. MonDaY 29th - Today you will drive along the Kaikoura coast to Christchurch, where you will enjoy an included city tour before transferring to the hotel for an overnight stay. tueSDaY 30th - Today you will take the TranzAlpine Express train for a spectacular journey into the Southern Alps. Continue south by coach to the magnificent scenery of the Franz Josef and Fox Glacier regions. An overnight stop will be made. neW YearS eVe - Continue through Westland National Park, crossing Clark Bluff and the Haast River Bridge before continuing to Queenstown, where you will stay for three nights. Tonight we enjoy a wonderful gala dinner. neW YearS DaY - An exciting full day optional excursion to beautiful Milford Sound, where there will be a cruise on the Sound (weather permitting).
