Your ItInerarY SunDaY 21st - Depart on your scheduled flight to Hanoi. MonDaY 22nd - Arrival in Hanoi, capital of Vietnam, for a three night stay. tueSDaY 23rd - This morning we have included a Hanoi city tour. You will see the Opera House, Hoan Kiem Lake, the Quan Thanh Temple and the Temple of Literature. You will also take a walking tour of the Ancient Quarter and a rickshaw ride. This afternoon visits will be made to the One Pillar Pagoda and Ba Dinh Square. This evening there will be an included Water Puppet show. cHrIStMaS eVe - Full day included tour to beautiful Halong Bay where you will take a four hour boat cruise, including seafood lunch. cHrIStMaS DaY - Transfer to the airport for the flight to Hue, former capital of Vietnam. Here you will visit the Thien Mu Pagoda and the royal tombs of Tu Duc and Khai Dinh. A cruise on the Perfume River is also included. BoXInG DaY - Morning visit to the Citadel, seat of royal power in ancient times. You will then depart for the beautiful coastal drive to the city of Danang, where a visit will be made to the Champa Museum. Continue to the Marble Mountains and China Beach before arrival in the charming seaport of Hoi An for a three night stay. SaturDaY 27th - We include a morning walking tour of Hoi An to the Japanese Covered Bridge, a 200 year old merchants house, and the 15th century Chuc Thanh Pagoda. In the afternoon there will be a guided bicycle ride into the countryside. SunDaY 28th - Today we include an excursion to the stunning monuments at My Son, a major religious centre in the Champa Kingdom. MonDaY 29th - Morning transfer to Danang Airport for the flight to Cam Ranh. On arrival you will drive inland through spectacular countryside to Dalat. tueSDaY 30th - This morning you will visit Dalats bustling market, the summer residence of Vietnams last emperor, Bao Dai and Dalat Cathedral before taking a leisurely drive in the countryside. neW YearS eVe - Morning departure for the drive to Ho Chi Minh City, better known as Saigon. Stops will be made at silk weaving farms and coffee and tea plantations en route. Gala dinner included this evening. neW YearS DaY - Morning included city tour visiting the Presidential Palace, the War Museum and the shopping street formerly known as Rue Catinat. We will also pass Notre Dame Cathedral. This afternoon you drive to the Cu Chi Tunnels, first constructed in the late 1940s and later extended by the Viet Cong rebels. FrIDaY 2nd JanuarY 2009 - Depart Saigon for a fabulous journey deep into the Mekong Delta. You will drive first to Cai Be, on the River Mekong, where you will board a boat and cruise through narrow inlets and canals to a lunch stop at a farmers house, visiting local workshops along the way. Continue by boat to Vinh Long, then by public ferry to Can Tho for an overnight stay. SaturDaY 3rd - Morning boat trip to the extraordinary floating market at Cai Rang. Return to Can Tho to explore this important trading post on the busy Mekong. Afternoon return drive to Saigon for a final overnight stay. SunDaY 4th - Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. MonDaY 5th - Arrival in the UK. Your HoteLS You will stay at the Sunway Hotel in Hanoi, the Huong Giang Hotel in Hue, the Hoi An Beach Resort Hotel in Hoi An, and in Dalat, youll stay at the Novotel. Relax in Saigon at the Palace Saigon Hotel, and in Can Tho you will stay at the Victoria Hotel, situated on the very banks of the Mekong. All rooms feature private facilities and hotels are air-conditioned where necessary.
