Join us for a magical festive holiday in the dream destination of lapland. This wonderful adventure takes you to the far north of Finland, inside the Arctic Circle for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. With some fantastic excursions, including an unforgettable reindeer sleigh ride and husky sledge safari, the memories of this special Christmas break will stay with you forever.
The village of Saariselkä is set amid rugged fells near Urho Kekkosen National Park in Finnish Lapland. Here youll find a dramatic landscape and a wealth of wildlife including, of course, the famous reindeer. In December this far north, the sun barely peeps above the horizon, making the area ideal for seeking out the incredible natural phenomenon of the Northern Lights.
noRTHERn liGHTS
CHrIStMaS DaY - This morning we include an excursion to a reindeer farm with a ride on a reindeer sleigh. Enjoy a traditional Lapp lunch by an open fire with music provided by a Lapp singer. Later in the evening, after dinner at the hotel, you can join our optional excursion In search of the Northern Lights. This is a fascinating excursion, bookable in advance at a cost of £80 per person. You will ride on a sledge pulled by snowmobile through snow covered forests to the best possible viewpoint for the night sky. Hot drinks and a snack are served by an open fire whilst, hopefully, enjoying the fantastic light show in the Arctic sky (depends on weather conditions). (Daily programme may change, but all activities will take place). BoXInG DaY - Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. Your HotelS In Helsinki you will stay in the modern Sokos Hotel Presidentti in the centre of the city. Amenities include a restaurant, bar, pub, disco and health spa. All rooms have private facilities, TV and telephone. In Saariselka you will stay at the Spa Hotel Holiday Club. Amenities include a restaurant specialising in Lapp cuisine, a pizzeria, bar and a spa with wave pool, Jacuzzi and sauna. All rooms have private facilities, telephone, TV and minibar.

MonDaY 22nd - Depart on your scheduled flight to Helsinki. On arrival we include a panoramic tour of the capital, before transferring to the hotel for an overnight stay. Dinner will be at a local restaurant this evening. tueSDaY 23rd - After an early breakfast, return to Helsinki airport for your onward flight to Ivalo in Finnish Lapland. Transfer to your hotel in Saariselka for a three night stay. In the afternoon join our included Husky Sledge Safari and travel by snowmobile through the snowy scenery to a husky farm. After learning about life on the farm and meeting the huskies, enjoy an exhilarating ride on a husky-drawn sledge. This evening we include a special dinner at the mountain-top Huippu restaurant. CHrIStMaS eVe - Following local tradition, Christmas Eve is the main day for festive celebration in Lapland. Join in with the activities at your hotel, including a visit from Santa Claus, Christmas tree decorating and a traditional Christmas dinner.
