Your ItInerarY MonDaY 15th - Depart on your scheduled flight to Lima, the capital of Peru. Late evening arrival at your hotel for a two night stay. tueSDaY 16th - This morning we include a tour of Lima the City of Kings. You will see the cathedral, located in the Plaza Mayor, the Archbishops Palace and the Presidential Palace. WeDneSDaY 17th - Depart Lima for the drive to Ica, visiting the ruins of Pachacamac en route. The ruins date back to before the time of the Incas and consist of adobe walls and pyramid temples. tHurSDaY 18th - Morning included tour to the Ballestas Islands, a marine reserve home to sea birds and sea lions. Continue to Nazca for an overnight stay. FrIDaY 19th - Today you can join an optional flight over the incredible Nazca Lines. These amazing shapes, lines and figures etched into the ground have remained an unexplained mystery for centuries. Continue to Arequipa for a two night stay. SaturDaY 20th - Morning included city tour of Arequipa visiting Santa Catalina Convent and the Museum of Santuarios Andinos. Afternoon visit to the countryside and Sabandia Mill. You can also join our optional walking tour of Chilina, where youll find colonial houses and pretty, preInca terraced slopes. SunDaY 21st - Early morning departure to visit the Colca Canyon, thought to be even deeper than the Grand Canyon. Lunch and dinner are included today. Overnight stay in Chivay. MonDaY 22nd - Depart Chivay for the drive to Puno, set on the shores of Lake Titicaca, for a two night stay. En route you will visit the burial site at Sillustani for a guided tour. tueSDaY 23rd - Today we include a half day tour to the Uros Islands. These floating islands on Titicaca are actually made from totora reeds and are home to local Indians who have inhabited the area for centuries and still practise a traditional way of life. BoXInG DaY - Morning free to explore. This afternoon join our included city tour of Cuzco and nearby Inca sites. SaturDaY 27th - Full day included tour to the market at Pisac and the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo. Lunch is included today. SunDaY 28th - Transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima for an overnight stay. MonDaY 29th - Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. tueSDaY 30th - Arrival in the UK. Your HoteLS You will stay in the Jose Antonio Lima Hotel in Lima, the Las Dunas or similar near Paracas, the Hotel Casa Andina in Nazca, the Casa Andina Arequipa Hotel or similar in Arequipa, the Casa Andina Colca Hotel at the Colca Canyon, the Eco Inn Hotel in Puno and the Jose Antonio in Cuzco. All rooms have private facilities, TV and telephone. Breakfast is included each day and in the evenings you are free to dine in local restaurants. Hotels in Nazca, Chivay and Puno offer more limited facilities.

Altitude
You will travel to altitudes of over 12,000ft. This should not be a problem, although everyone should take it easy at first as altitude sickness can occur. Our tour has been designed to allow a more gradual increase in altitude, giving you more time to adjust to the lower oxygen levels. Other simple measures, such as eating light meals and drinking lots of fluids can also help to alleviate the symptoms. If you suffer from heart or respiratory conditions or have any other concerns please consult your doctor.

cHrIStMaS DaY - Today you will visit Machu Picchu, a highlight of any visit to Peru. Perched inaccessibly above a steep valley swathed in jungle, it is often referred to as the Lost City. You will travel to Machu Picchu by narrow gauge railway. The last part of the journey is by bus and you will drive up to the mist-shrouded mountain tops where you will discover these fascinating ruins. Lunch is included today.
