For an adventurous Christmas, this fabulous holiday is ideal. Walk amongst the stupendous mountain scenery of Nepal, situated deep in the himalayas. Nepal has spectacular scenery of incomparable grandeur, and an ancient culture steeped in Buddhist and hindu traditions.
A full sightseeing programme and lots of spectacular walks are included and the tour is on a full board basis, perfect to keep you going on your walks in this extraordinary land. BoXInG DaY - Transfer to Nagarkot, one of the most scenic areas in the Kathmandu Valley with excellent views of the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas including, on a clear day, Mount Everest. A gentle walk will take you through the countryside to Changunarayan where you can see one of the oldest pagoda style temples in Nepal (approx. 3 hours walk). Afternoon transfer back to Kathmandu for two nights accommodation. SaturDaY 27th - Transfer to Khokna, on the outskirts of Kathmandu, for a walk around Bungamati, a charming town where time seems to have stood still (approx. 3 hours walk). SunDaY 28th - Morning free before the return flight from Kathmandu to the UK. MonDaY 29th - Arrival in the UK. Your HoteLS In Kathmandu you will stay in the Himalaya Hotel, a good tourist-class hotel. Accommodation in Pokhara and Dhulikhel will be simple but comfortable. You will stay at the Pokhara Grand in Pokhara and the Mirabel Resort in Dhulikhel. All accommodation features rooms with private facilities.

Your ItInerarY FrIDaY 19th - Depart on your scheduled flight to Kathmandu. SaturDaY 20th - Arrival in Kathmandu where you will be met by our Tour Manager for an overnight stay. Nepal lies in the Himalayan Mountains between India and Tibet. The scenery is breathtaking, from the highest point on earth, Mount Everest, to the fertile jungle lowland. A vibrant mix of religion and culture characterises the allure of Nepal and, in particular, its capital Kathmandu. SunDaY 21st - This morning, we have included a sightseeing tour of the city featuring visits to the ancient Palace of the Kings of Nepal, the Temple of the Living Goddess, the 2,000 year-old Stupa of Swayambhunath, and Durbar Square. Afternoon flight to Pokhara for an included tour of the Pokhara Valley. The rare combination of snow-clad peaks, snow-fed lakes and rivers has helped to make the Pokhara Valley one of the most picturesque natural attractions in the world. MonDaY 22nd - It is here you will start your fantastic walking itinerary to discover the impressive scenery for which Nepal is famed. On your walks you will be treated to magnificent views, including the Annapurna Mountain range. Begin your walking programme with a walk into the Pumdi and Bhumdi area (approx. 7 hours walk). tueSDaY 23rd - Morning departure for your walk to Begnas Lake, with sightseeing along the way (approx. 7 hours walk). cHrIStMaS eVe - Morning return flight to Kathmandu. Transfer to Dhulikhel for a two night stay. A stop will be made en route at Bhadgaon, city of devotees. Dhulikhel offers stunning views over the Himalayas and charming villages. Many of the houses in this area have beautifully carved wooden structures around their doors and windows. cHrIStMaS DaY - Your walking trail to Panauti will take you through forests, small rural villages and then to Panauti Temple (approx. 8 hours walk).

Walking information
A good level of fitness is required for this holiday as walks include steep inclines and uneven ground. You will need to take comfortable walking boots and a small rucksack for waterproofs, a snack and a drink. A local guide will also accompany you on your walks.
