Sorrento is one of Italys most attractive and popular resorts. Its wonderful setting on the beautiful Bay of Naples and great selection of shops, bars and cafés make it a marvellous place in which to celebrate the New Year. Your ItInerarY MonDaY 29th - Depart on your scheduled flight to Naples. On arrival transfer to your hotel in Sorrento for a four night stay. Enjoy a welcome drink and dinner at the hotel this evening. tueSDaY 30th - Today we include an introductory walking tour of Sorrento plus a tasting of some of the regions wines. In the afternoon there will be a fabulous optional half day excursion to Pompeii, which was frozen in time when nearby Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79AD. This tour offers a fascinating insight into everyday life in the Roman Empire, when you can explore the well-preserved ruins of the town, such as the Sea Gate, the Agora, temples, porticoes and houses. neW YearS eVe - Optional full day excursion travelling by ferry to the wonderful island of Capri with visits to the villages of Capri and Anacapri accompanied by a local guide. In the evening enjoy a special New Years Eve dinner with wine and live music at a local venue. neW YearS DaY - Relax and enjoy the scenery of the Sorrento Peninsula on our included threequarter day scenic tour along this breathtaking coastline to Amalfi. The views as we drive along the cliffs to Amalfi are stunning. Poised between the mountain and the sea, the town is dominated by its highly decorative Renaissance cathedral. Afternoon tea and biscuits are included back at the hotel. Fireworks spectacular over Sorrento this evening.

Dinner at the hotel this evening. neW YearS eVe - Free to relax or join an optional full day excursion to Syracuse to explore the old town and visit the island of Oritiga. We return to the hotel in plenty of time to prepare to welcome in 2009 at our New Years Eve Dinner with live music. neW YearS DaY - Today we include a trip to Mount Etna, Europes highest volcano. You will have the chance to see the volcano from the highest point possible, where the views are amazing (off-road transport and guide at extra cost). FrIDaY 2nd JanuarY 2009 - At leisure or join our optional full day excursion to Palermo, Sicilys vibrant capital. We also visit Monreale, with its beautiful 16th century Benedictine Abbey. Farewell drink and dinner this evening. SaturDaY 3rd - Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
