YOUR ITINERARY Thursday 28 August - Southampton Depart 1700 Friday 29th - Cruising at sea Friday 5th - Nantes Arrive 0800 Depart 1830 The historic port of Nantes, on the Loire river, is home to the magnificent Chateau des Ducs de Bretagne and the beautiful Jardin des Plantes. Wander around Bouffay, the cobbled medieval quarter, or browse in the shops around the Rue de Crébillon and Passage Pommeraye. Enjoy an optional sightseeing tour of the city, or take an optional trip to the chic seaside resort of La Baule and the historic Guérande Peninsula. Saturday 6th - Cruising at sea Sunday 7th - Honfleur Arrive 0700 Depart 2300 The picturesque fishing port of Honfleur, with its peaceful setting along the estuary of the Seine, has attracted many artists and writers throughout the centuries. Today artists still gather on the quayside of the pretty harbour. It is a place of great historic charm, especially around the Vieux Bassin, where you can relax in one of the many harbourside bars and watch the colourful yachts go by. Saturday 30th - Bordeaux, France Arrive 0800 Depart 1900 Spend time in this lovely French wine city, wander along the Rue Sainte-Catherine, Bordeauxs main pedestrianised shopping street, stopping for a drink at one of the many cafés. There is an optional walking tour of the beautiful Old Quarter, taking in the sights of splendid Grand Theatre, the Place De La Bourse and the former royal palace. OPORTO
Bilbao, the largest city in northern Spains Basque Country, is a fascinating mix of old and new. The fantastic futuristic Guggenheim Museum, the metro system and the Zubizuri Bridge are just a few of the modern additions. Wander through the narrow streets of the Old Quarter, in and out of the shops or stop for a drink and bite to eat in a traditional bodega. There is a fascinating range of shore excursions available, bookable on board ship. Monday 1st September - Cruising at sea Tuesday 2nd - Oporto (Lexioes) Arrive 0700 Depart 1800 The small port of Leixoes is the gateway to Oporto, situated on the bank of the Douro River and the Atlantic Ocean. The centre is a rich mixture of medieval and 18th-century architecture. If you like wine, youll be at home here across the Douro River is the port wine capital of the world Vila Nova de Gaia.
