This fabulous, great value cruise is a fantastic opportunity to visit the remote Falklands Islands before exploring Antarcticas spectacular, pristine landscapes and unique wildlife. Depart on 16th December and spend Christmas Day in Antarctica, or on 27th December to enjoy the New Year there!
Let us take you on this fantastic voyage of discovery to the worlds last great wilderness, once the preserve of intrepid pioneers and explorers. Enjoy the comfort of life on board as you journey through some of the most evocative coastal and island regions in the world. You can visit penguin colonies, see majestic icebergs float by, watch seals basking in the sun and maybe spot passing whales, while learning about the exploits of Shackleton, Scott and Amundsen. YOUR ITINERARY Tuesday 16th December - Fly overnight to Ushuaia, Argentina. Wednesday 17th - Arrive in Ushuaia and embark Marco Polo for your 11 night cruise. Depart 2000 Thursday 18th - Cruising at sea Saturday 27th - Cape Horn Arrive 0900 Depart 1800 Dramatic Cape Horn on the southern end of Chiles Tierra del Fuego is the southernmost tip of South America. The meeting point between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, its separated from Antarctica by Drakes Passage. Sunday 28th - Ushuaia, Argentina Arrive 0700 Disembark for your return flight to the UK. Monday 29th - Arrive in the UK.
*Please note that our December 27th departure is two nights longer and also features Paradise Bay, together with a planned landing on King George Island in Antarctica. The ports of call are visited in a slightly different order, with some minor timing adjustments.

Friday 19th - Port Stanley, Falkland Islands Arrive 0730 Depart 1900 Port Stanley is the smallest and most remote capital in the world, where the great sailing ships called on their voyages around Cape Horn. Visit the Whalebone Arch outside Christchurch Cathedral, the Magellan penguins in Gypsy Cove, the 1982 battlefields and meet the sheepfarming kelpers. Saturday 20th - Westpoint Island, Falkland Islands Arrive 0730 Depart 1830 Learn about everyday life on this remote, unspoilt and beautiful island and watch the albatross, rock hopper penguins and dolphins. Sunday 21st - Cruising at sea Monday 22nd - Cruise past Elephant Island, Antarctica, where Shackletons Endurance expedition was stranded and giant glaciers calve into the sea. Tuesday 23rd - Hope Bay and Trinity Peninsula, Antarctica Arrive 0730 Depart 1400 Visit Trinity House next to the Esperanza Station, the remains of the British base built during WWII, and the museum dedicated to a polar expedition in 1903. Wednesday 24th - Cruise the Lemaire Channel between the spectacular cliffs and glaciers. Look out for minke whales and seals. Thursday 25th - Cruise past Deception Island, Antarctica and admire the volcanic geysers, sheer cliffs and multi-coloured rocks. Friday 26th - Cruise Drake Passage.
