This delightful cruise and stay holiday combines three nights in Athens with a memorable seven day cruise around the Aegean Sea. With ancient cities and lovely beaches to discover, plus wonderful facilities and great dining aboard your cruise ship, Cristal, this holiday is sure to enchant you.
YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Depart on your scheduled flight to Athens. On arrival transfer to your hotel for a three night stay. DAY 2 - This morning we include an Athens city tour featuring the Acropolis and the Parthenon, plus a walk around the fascinating Plaka district. Your afternoon is free for you to explore further. DAY 3 - Join our optional half day excursion, beginning with a lovely scenic drive along the coast to Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon. DAY 4 - Morning at leisure before an afternoon transfer to Piraeus where you will embark Cristal for your seven night cruise. Depart 1500 DAY 5 - Istanbul Arrive 1500 Afternoon arrival in this bustling Turkish city for an overnight stay. DAY 6 - Istanbul Depart 1800 Istanbul is a heady mix of cultures, blending fantasies of Arabian Nights and modern sophistication. Amid the skyline, bristling with minarets, domes, spires and mosques, you will find the Topkapi Palace, the legendary Blue Mosque, the majestic Aghia Sophia and, of course, the Grand Bazaar. DAY 7 - Mykonos Arrive 1500 Depart Midnight Mykonos has many charms, from its wonderful harbour to a maze of alleys, churches and chapels. DAY 8 - Patmos Arrive 0700 Depart 1030 This beautiful island is most famous as the place where St. John the Divine wrote the Book of Revelation. Kusadasi (for Ephesus) Arrive 1430 Depart 2030 Kusadasi offers excellent shopping in its Grand Bazaar and traditional cafés in which to enjoy a drink. Nearby is ancient Ephesus, site of the Temple of Artemis, the Temple of Hadrian, the Fountain of Trajan and the House of the Virgin Mary. DAY 9 - Rhodes Arrive 0700 Depart 1800 Rhodes Town features a well preserved medieval quarter and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. CRISTAL The recently refurbished Cristal has everything you need for a relaxing cruise on board, from great entertainment in the show lounge, excellent cuisine in a choice of restaurants and a number of bars and lounges to relax in. Cristal also boasts a swimming pool, beauty salon, wellness centre and shop. DAY 10 - Heraklion, Crete Arrive 0700 Depart Midday Heraklion is an ancient port with a lovely old town and Venetian fortifications. Close by is the famous Palace of Knossos. Santorini Arrive 1700 Depart 2100 White-walled villages dot the landscape, and a wealth of pretty churches adorn the island. DAY 11 - Piraeus Arrive 0600 Disembark and transfer to Athens airport for your return flight to the UK.
