YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Fly to Calgary and drive to Banff for a three night stay. DAY 2 - Tour Bow Falls, the Cave and Basin and Sulphur Mountain and take an optional gondola ride to the top. UPGRADE GOLDLEAF Upgrade to the Rocky Mountaineer GoldLeaf service for a supplement of £395. Assigned seating is in the glass roofed bi-level dome coach and freshly cooked breakfast and lunch in the private dining room are all included, making the journey even more memorable. Heathrow Or from your LOCAL AIRPORT THE ROCKY MOUNTAINEER DAY 3 - Full day excursion to Lake Louise, often described as the most beautiful place in Canada. DAY 4 - Board the Rocky Mountaineer. Breakfast and lunch are served at your reclining seat with complimentary snacks, tea, coffee, soft drinks and a full bar service available. The on-board commentary ensures you see the spectacular sights as you travel through the grandeur of the Rockies, past Lake Wapata into two spiral tunnels down to Kicking Horse Pass, on to Golden, Rogers Pass with its tunnels, snowsheds and glistening glaciers, Craigellachie, Silverdale and along the South Thompson river to Kamloops for an overnight stay. DAY 5 - Re-board the train to Vancouver for a three night stay. DAY 6 - Canadas third largest city, Vancouver has one of the most beautiful settings in the world. Your city tour takes in Chinatown, Gastown, Stanley Park with its famous totem poles, and the magnificent harbour. Options include an excursion to Vancouvers Northshore, featuring the spectacular Capilano Suspension Bridge and a cable car ride up Grouse Mountain. DAY 7 - Free or join an optional ferry trip to Victoria, capital of British Columbia to visit the marvellous Butchart Gardens, Parliament Building and the impressive Empress Hotel. DAY 8 - Morning free in Vancouver before embarking ms Statendam in Vancouver harbour. DAY 9 - Cruise the magnificent Inside Passage, a haven for wildlife. DAY 10 - Scenic cruise of Tracy Arm and Sawyer Glacier (weather permitting) before arriving in Juneau, the capital of Alaska. Option to visit the mighty Mendenhall Glacier. DAY 11 - Morning arrival in Skagway, a lively relic of the famous Klondike Gold Rush of 1898. DAY 12 - Glacier Bay, where great ice castles float serenely in radiant blue-green water. As a glacier calves it crashes into the mirror-calm water with a thunderous roar. DAY 13 - Early afternoon arrival in Ketchikan. You can take a seaplane flight over the spectacular Misty Fjord, explore the Totem Poles Park, or enjoy a lunch of fresh Alaskan salmon. DAY 14 - A scenic cruise back through the Inside Passage towards Vancouver. DAYS 15 & 16 - Disembark in Vancouver for your return flight and next day arrival in the UK.
