A 3 DAY CRUISE ON THE NILE
Egypt is one of the worlds must-see destinations. Only by being there can you appreciate the splendour and majesty of the mighty pyramids or the magic of the vibrant culture. A cruise on the Nile is the journey of a lifetime. We combine this with a stay in Cairo with full sightseeing included.
YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Depart on your scheduled flight to Cairo. On arrival transfer to your hotel for a two night stay. DAY 2 - Full day tour to the legendary Pyramids and the Sphinx. The great Pyramids of Giza stand on a rocky plateau on the western bank of the Nile. During the afternoon we include a trip to the world-famous Egyptian Museum, which houses the richest store of remains including the treasures from the tombs of Tutankhamen and other Pharaohs. DAY 3 - Early morning transfer to Cairo airport for your flight to Aswan. Included today is a visit to the Aswan Dam, and the Philae Temple. Transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. This evening is at leisure. DAY 4 - Early morning optional trip by air to Abu Simbel, one of the most spectacular man-made features on earth. This magnificent temple boasts four seated figures of the Pharaoh carved out of the rock and standing 60ft high. Late morning transfer to the cruise ship for your magical journey on the Nile. During the afternoon you will sail by traditional Felucca around Elephantine Island and past the Mausoleum of Aga Khan. This evening you will sail to Kom Ombo. DAY 5 - After breakfast we visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, you will then sail to Edfu to see the Ptolemaic Temple. Sail on to ancient Thebes, known today as Luxor, where your ship will berth overnight. DAY 6 - Luxor is a huge open-air museum set on both sides of the Nile. During the afternoon you will visit the Temple of Karnak and the Luxor Temple. You will also visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the highlight of today, the fabulous Valley of the Kings, where the tombs of scores of Pharaohs have been discovered. DAY 7 - Morning free before transferring to the airport for your flight to Cairo. On arrival transfer to your hotel for an overnight stop. DAY 8 - Transfer to the airport for the return flight to the UK.

For those of you who would like to relax on the beach after your tour we are delighted to offer a five night add-on to the resort of Sharm El Sheikh, fringed by the crystal clear waters of the Red Sea. Accommodation has been arranged at the Naama Bay Hotel or similar on a bed a breakfast basis. Price includes return scheduled flights from Cairo to Sharm El Sheikh. MS SOVEREIGN Your cruise ship will be the MS Sovereign or similar. It is well appointed with comfortable cabins with bathroom and shower. The spacious public areas include a restaurant, lounge area, bar, swimming pool and sundeck. The vessel is fully air-conditioned.
