YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Depart on your flight to Shanghai. DAY 2 - Arrival in Shanghai for a three night stay. Meet your Tour Manager and Chinese guide and enjoy an introductory city tour this afternoon. DAY 3 - Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Shanghai and visit an Acrobatic Show this evening. DAY 4 - A full day tour by train to Suzhou, situated on Chinas historic Grand Canal.

Combine our Highlights of China tour with a train journey along the worlds highest and most spectacular railway line as you journey across the Rooftop of the World from Lhasa to Xining. This wonderful trip will take you through remote and beautiful Tibet, high up in the Himalayas.

DAY 5 - Fly to Xian for a two night stay. DAY 6 - A full day visit to the site of the Terracotta Army at Li Shan Mountain and the nearby Han Tombs. In the evening, join our optional Tang Dynasty folklore show. DAY 7 - Included morning guided tour of Xian before your flight to Chengdu. Enjoy a short city sightseeing tour before reaching your hotel for an overnight stay. DAY 8 - Morning drive to the Wolong Nature Reserve. After lunch, you will visit the Sanctuary, returning to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. DAY 9 - A morning visit to the Panda Museum, before lunch and the drive back to Chengdu for an overnight stay. DAY 10 - Fly to Chongqing and board your ship for a three night Yangtze cruise. DAYS 11 & 12 - You will cruise to the Three Gorges Dam, where you will pass through the locks. Proceed downstream through Xiling, Wuxia and Qutang Gorges and take a side trip up the Shennong Stream. DAY 13 - Morning arrival in Yichang. Transfer to Wuhan for your flight to Beijing for a three night stay. DAY 14 - We visit Tian an Men Square and the incredible Forbidden City, home to the Imperial Palace. After lunch, see the pandas at Beijing Zoo, and the magnificent 800-year-old Summer Palace. DAY 15 - We visit the Great Wall and the remarkable Ming Tombs with a special Peking Duck dinner this evening. DAY 16 - Your return flight to the UK. As you are flying westwards your arrival is later the same day. MV SUNSHINE You will cruise the Yangtze Gorges aboard the MV Sunshine or similar. This cruise vessel has twin cabins with private facilities for approximately 130 persons and features a restaurant, bar, coffee shop, viewing deck and is fully air-conditioned. Other facilities include western and Chinese restaurants and bars. In Wolong you will stay in the Panda Inn or similar. Accommodation is simple with all rooms featuring private facilities. YOUR MEALS All meals are included whilst in China. Breakfast is western continental style, followed by Chinese lunch and dinner, each consisting of a wide variety of tasty dishes.
