Spend two nights in Darjeeling, where you can experience breathtaking views of Mount Everest. We include a sightseeing tour of Darjeeling, including the Tibetan Refuge Centre and Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. You then move on to Gangtok for two nights, from where you visit the Rumtek and Enchey Monasteries. Travel through tea plantations as you drive to Bagadora for your flight to Calcutta, where you stay for two nights. We include a full day tour of Calcutta. Experience the princely state of Rajasthan with this special add-on tour. Experience a magical mix of history, romance, rugged natural beauty and traditional arts and crafts. We include tours of Bikaner and Jaisalmer, a camel ride on the sand dunes, a stay in Jodphur, a visit to the Jain temples in Ranakpur and a boat ride in Udaipur, on Lake Picola, before flying to Delhi and then home. Journey to Shimla

Enjoy a fascinating journey by train to the hill station of Shimla, in the foothills of the Himalayas. You will travel aboard the Himalayan Queen Express to Kalka, where you will change to the narrow gauge train, known as the Toy Train, to Shimla the highlight of the trip. The journey is quite spectacular as the railway climbs to over 6000ft. We include a tour of Shimla. You then board the Statabdi Express back to Delhi for your flight home, arriving the following day. A chance to travel on the Shatabdi Express, the countrys fastest train, to Amritsar, an ancient and fascinating city. We include an evening trip to Wagah, the only border crossing between India and Pakistan, to attend the spectacular sunset banging on the gates ceremony, and a visit to the Golden Temple. We also include a half day sightseeing tour of Amritsar before boarding the evening train back to Delhi for an overnight stay and a day at leisure. Late evening flight back to the UK. The town of Pushkar, around 90 miles from Jaipur, is famed for its sacred lake and annual Camel Fair, which takes place in November. The whole event is an explosion of colour and activity as the locals come to trade livestock and set up colourful stalls. It is certainly a lively and unforgettable experience. We offer special departures on our 8 day (pages 4-5) and 19 day (pages 6-7) tours to India and our 14 day India and Nepal tour (pages 10-11), which feature a visit to Pushkar and the Camel Fair, staying for two nights in special tented accommodation with private facilities.
