FLORENCE
Surrounded by the rolling Tuscany hills, the beautiful and vibrant Renaissance city of Florence is home to a treasure trove of artistic delights, created by some of the great masters, including Michelangelos statue David.
yOuR cITy Built beside the River Arno, the compact historic centre of Florence is easily explored on foot. Marvel at the magnificent Duomo, take a stroll across the delightful Ponte Vecchio Bridge, with its famous silver and gold jewellery shops, or explore the side streets and market places in search of a bargain or two. Use your time here to explore, perhaps visiting the famous Uffizi art gallery, home to a fantastic art collection, including works by Michelangelo and Leonardo Da Vinci. Climb the steps to the top of the Duomo or visit one of the many markets selling a variety of gifts. Visit Il Porcellino, the statue of a boar, located in Mercato Nuovo, throw a coin into the grating at its feet and rub its shiny nose to ensure your return to this artistic city.
