yOuR RESORT The lovely old town of Urbino came to prominence in the 15th century under Frederico di Montefeltro, who employed some of the finest artists and craftsmen to create the towns Renaissance treasures. The birthplace of the great artist Raphael, you will find spacious airy rooms with carved marble fireplaces, stuccoed ceilings and heavy wooden doors which make ideal backdrops for classic masterpieces including Piero della Francescas Flagellation of Christ. Relax and enjoy the facilities at your hotel, or explore on our exciting excursion programme. IncLudEd ExcuRSIOnS Urbino - A guided walking tour will take you to see the cathedral and the magnificent Palazzo ducale, possibly the most beautiful Renaissance palace in Italy and home to fine works of art. Then youre free to visit Raphaels birthplace and the church of San bernardino at your own pace. Gradara & San Leo - A full day tour of two of the prettiest hilltop towns in the region. The walled town of Gradara is dominated by an impressive 14th century castle and in the fortified town of San Leo, we visit the 12th century cathedral and Roman basilica. Corinaldo & the Adriatic Coast - The day begins with a walk along the battlements in the picturesque, fortified hill town of Corinaldo. Next stop is a delightful resort on the Adriatic coast, where you can take a stroll along the waterfront, indulge yourself with a delicious Italian ice cream and even take a dip in the sea. OpTIOnaL ExcuRSIOn Arezzo - Spend the day exploring one of Tuscanys wealthiest towns, built on the riches of its jewellery industry. A guided walking tour includes a visit to the Church of San Francesco with its magnificent frescoes.
