your ItInerary Day 1 - Depart on your scheduled flight to Zurich. On arrival transfer to your hotel in Weggis for a four night stay. Day 2 - Join our optional full day tour of Bern, the quaint capital of Switzerland. The city has some of the finest medieval architecture in Europe and a magnificent cathedral. Day 3 - Enjoy an included excursion to delightful Lucerne. You will see the Chapel Bridge, the water tower and the famous Lion of Lucerne. Free time in the old town. Day 4 - Relax or join our optional excursion through the Bernese Oberland, a classic Swiss scene featuring high peaks, sheer valleys and cool lakes. We visit the lakeside town of Brienz, famed for its woodcarving; Interlaken, set on a narrow strip of land between the beautiful Lakes Thun and Brienz; and pretty Grindelwald, a popular holiday centre, known as Glacier Village, nestling under the dramatic Wetterhorn, Mettenberg and Eiger mountains. Day 5 - The highlight of todays included trip is our ride on the William Tell Express. We set out from Lucerne and board an authentic paddle steamer for the leisurely cruise across the lake to Fluelen, with lunch served on board in the excellent restaurant. Here we join the famous William Tell Express and travel first class on the air-conditioned train through the steep ravines and dramatic cliffs of the Reuss Valley. After exiting the historic Gotthard Tunnel, we cross over breathtaking bridges and pass charming villages on the descent towards Locarno, situated on Lake Maggiore where we alight for a four night stay. Day 6 - Today we include a full day excursion to delightful Lake Lugano, on the Swiss-Italian border, where you will enjoy a scenic cruise across the lake. We then continue to Lake Como in Italy, blessed with crystal clear waters and surrounded by majestic mountains.
Day 7 - Our optional full day excursion on the Centovalli Railway today features a superb scenic train ride across a hundred valleys, through remote hillside villages and over high bridges to Domodossola. Transfer to Stresa by coach and then return to Locarno by ferry boat. Day 8 - Today you are at leisure in the Swiss town of Locarno, where the official language is Italian. Set on the northern tip of Lake Maggiore, youll have plenty of time to discover the delights of the town. Day 9 - Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK, arriving at Gatwick from where you can take a complimentary coach transfer to Heathrow. your HoteL You will stay at the Wellness Hotel Rössli in Weggis, conveniently located on the lakeside promenade. Facilities at the hotel include a restaurant and free use of the beauty and spa centre. All bedrooms feature private facilities, balcony, TV, telephone and kettle. You will stay at the Hotel Camelia in Locarno. Located just ten minutes walk from Lake Maggiore, this comfortable hotel has a restaurant and lift. All bedrooms have private facilities, TV, telephone and hairdryer.
