This lively resort is one of Italy's most famous holiday destinations and an ideal base from which to explore the stunning coastline, fascinating Pompeii and the wonderful island of Capri.
YOUR RESORT Sorrento combines a cosmopolitan atmosphere with a truly Italian style and offers a variety of shops, restaurants and pavement cafés where you can relax and enjoy the setting. Take time to wander through the old cobbled streets of the historic centre, enjoy shopping along the main shopping street, Corso Italia, or simply stroll down to the picturesque harbours of Marina Grande and Marina Piccola. CHOICE OF OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS Pompeii - A half day excursion including a guided walking tour of the ancient city of Pompeii which was frozen in time when Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79AD and buried the entire area under a layer of hot ash. Comparatively recent excavations have revealed mummified remains of the inhabitants and their lifestyles as they were 2,000 years ago. Positano - A half day excursion to the delightful coastal town of Positano where the characteristic pastel coloured buildings cling precariously to the rock face. Take time to wander through the maze of streets which are lined with designer clothes shops and boutiques. Amalfi Drive - A full day tour along the stunning Amalfi Coast. As the road twists and turns down the coastline you will enjoy breathtaking views across the Gulf of Naples. Enjoy free time in the picturesque resort of Amalfi, poised between the mountain and the sea. The town is dominated by its highly decorative Renaissance cathedral, built in the 9th century and well worth a visit. Exploring the narrow streets, you'll find plenty of cafés, shops and restaurants. Continue to the historic cliff-top town of Ravello, the jewel of the Naples Coast. From here you can enjoy magnificent views of the coastline below. Mount Vesuvius - An exciting half day trip to view this famous volcano, one of Italy's major attractions. As you walk up towards the rim of the volcano you will be amazed by the hauntingly beautiful lava landscape. And once at the top you will enjoy spectacular views over the Bay of Naples as well as observe the crater itself. For those who are feeling adventurous you can even walk the rim accompanied by a local volcanologist! Capri - A full day excursion travelling by ferry to the wonderful island of Capri. You'll visit the villages of Capri and Anacapri, the Gardens of Caesar Augustus and see the Faraglioni Rocks. Includes a guided tour. YOUR HOTEL You will stay for seven nights in the three star rated Hotel Tirrenia in Sorrento. Hotel facilities include a lift, bar/lounge, restaurant and terrace. All bedrooms feature private facilities, TV and telephone. Accommodation includes buffet breakfast each morning and a three course evening meal on five out of the seven nights.

On selected dates you can choose to stay at the four star Hotel Michelangelo, offering that extra bit of comfort and service. This elegant hotel is centrally located in Sorrento and facilities include a lift, pleasant lounge, American Bar and restaurant. Bedrooms are tastefully furnished with private facilities, telephone, hairdryer, safe and satellite TV.
FLEXIBLE MEAL ARRANGEMENTS
We are delighted to offer you a flexible meal arrangement at the Hotel Tirrenia. During your seven night stay enjoy five nights half board accommodation at your hotel. On two nights, Days 3 and 6, you are free to take dinner in a local restaurant (extra cost) so you can join the locals and experience the atmosphere of Sorrento by night.
