Starting from the southernmost tip of Croatias Dalmatian peninsula, this unique new tour-cruise holiday takes you along a spectacular stretch of coastline. Visit unspoilt islands, historic towns and natural wonders, spending three days cruising aboard the Viking, enjoying stunning views and a real insight into this beautiful part of the world.
YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Depart on your flight to Dubrovnik, for a two night stay in the region. DAY 2 - Explore the city of Dubrovnik on our half day included tour, visiting the city walls and cathedral, as well as the oldest pharmacy in Europe. After lunch the afternoon is at leisure in Dubrovnik. This evening, optional traditional Dalmatian evening, with music, and wine. DAY 3 - This morning we visit Split, for a guided tour of the city, including entrance to the cathedral and Diocletians Palace. After lunch you will continue to the town of Trogir, with time at leisure to discover the palaces, churches and towers of this ancient town before transferring to the `ibenik region for a two night stay. DAY 4 - This morning you will board the Viking for your first of three days cruising. Visit the Krka National Park, where you will travel to the stunning Skradinski Buk waterfalls by river boat. Take a walk around the 17 waterfalls, with spectacular views from the top. Return to the Viking for lunch as you continue to `ibenik, for a guided tour including the Renaissance-style Cathedral of St James. DAY 5 - Todays cruise aboard the Viking (includes lunch) takes you to the Kornati National Park, where you will visit Dugi Otok, the bay of Telaacia, and the island of }akan. You will then travel to Zadar for a guided tour of this historic town, where sights include the 13th century St. Anastasias Cathedral, the fortified harbour and the old city. Overnight stay in the Zadar region. DAY 6 - Board the Viking at Novalija for your trip to the island of Rab, for a guided tour around the medieval town of the same name, before continuing to the former prison island of Goli Otok. After lunch onboard the ship, you will arrive in Baaka, home to one of the longest beaches in Croatia, then its on to Krk, the largest island in the Adriatic Sea, we leave the Viking for the last time and visit the town of Krk by coach, with its Mediterranean architecture, narrow streets and fortifications, before crossing the road bridge that links the island to the mainland and travel to your hotel in the Pula region for a two night stay. DAY 7 - This morning you take a guided tour of Pula, including entrance to the Roman amphitheatre. After lunch you continue to Rovinj, one of the most beautiful coastal cities on the Istrian peninsula, before visiting the Roman town of Porec and taking a tour of the Basilica of Euphrasius. DAY 8 - Transfer to Pula airport for your return flight to the UK. YOUR HOTELS You will stay in comfortable medium grade hotels with bar, restaurant and most have a swimming pool. All bedrooms have private facilities and TV. Typical of the hotels we use are the Hotel Astarea in the Dubrovnik region, the Hotel Porto in the Zadar region and the Valamar Hotels Complex in the Porec and Rabac region. YOUR SHIP You will spend three days cruising aboard the friendly ship, the Viking, where lunch is included each day, as well as free drinks (beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks). This small ship is perfect for exploring the hidden gems the beautiful coastline offers, and the atmosphere aboard is full of fun. Your luggage is transported by road from hotel to hotel during your time aboard Viking, so you can simply relax. Please note the cruise itinerary may vary depending on weather conditions and at the Captains discretion.
