Come and join us for a fun-filled holiday in beautiful Bavaria, with its spectacular scenery and enchanting villages. With half board accommodation in a charming village near Bamberg, included extras such as a wine tasting, and traditional German hospitality, its great value and great fun!
YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Local departure and a mid-morning crossing to Calais. Continue through Belgium into Germany and on to your hotel in the Koblenz area for an overnight stay including breakfast. DAY 2 - We enjoy a scenic drive along the Rhine Gorge and on to Markt Taschendorf, just south-west of Bamberg. Arrive at your hotel early evening for a four night stay. Welcome drink and dinner. DAY 3 - Included three-quarter day excursion to the historic town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Enjoy a walking tour in the company of a local guide. You will find an excellent range of shops, bars and restaurants waiting to be discovered as you explore the narrow streets and wide squares. DAY 4 - Join our optional full day excursion to the delightful medieval town of Bamberg, the quaint cluster of fishermens houses of Little Venice, and Coburg, the birthplace of Queen Victorias husband, Prince Albert. We also visit the impressive 16th century castle of Veste Coburg, one of the largest castles in Germany. DAY 5 - Optional three-quarter day excursion to Nuremberg, Bavarias second largest city with its lovely old town and half-timbered houses dominated by the enormous Imperial Castle. DAY 6 - Depart after breakfast for your journey to the Aachen area for a final overnight stop including breakfast.

DAY 7 - Continue to Calais for a late afternoon crossing to the UK, returning to your original departure point in the evening. YOUR HOTEL The comfortable, family-run Landgasthof Wellmann in Markt Taschendorf has a restaurant, bar, terrace and its own vineyard. All bedrooms have private facilities and TV. Please note there is no lift in this hotel.

The beautiful rolling scenery of the Harz region, Germanys northernmost mountain range, is the setting for this fascinating holiday.
YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Local departure and mid-morning crossing to Calais. Continue through Belgium to the Dortmund area of Germany for your overnight stop on a bed and breakfast basis. DAY 2 - We continue to the medieval town centre of Hamelin, arriving early evening at our hotel in the Harz region for a four night stay. DAYS 3 TO 5 - Free to relax and enjoy our optional excursion programme: Harz Narrow Gauge Railway - This full day excursion includes an unforgettable narrow gauge rail trip from Wernigerode up to the Brocken station at a height of over 3,490 ft, with magnificent views over the Hochharz National Park along the way. After enjoying the ride down you have free time in the delightful medieval centre of Wernigerode. Leipzig & Colditz - A fascinating full day excursion featuring a guided tour of Colditz Castle, the infamous World War II prison, and the rejuvenated city of Leipzig. Goslar & Quedlinburg - A three-quarter day tour featuring a visit to the UNESCO listed town of Goslar and the delightful town of Quedlinburg with its pretty half-timbered houses. DAY 6 - Time to leave the Harz region and head back west. Today an added bonus is a photo-stop at the Möhne Dam, the target of the famous wartime Dambusters raid. Continue to our final overnight stop in the Dortmund area on a bed and breakfast basis. DAY 7 - Continue to Calais for a late afternoon crossing to the UK, returning to your original departure point in the evening.

YOUR HOTEL Youll stay in the comfortable Hotel Zum Schwan, in the small village of Nachterstedt, located around 50 miles east of Goslar. The hotel has a bar, restaurant, bowling alley and pleasant garden. Bedrooms feature private facilities, TV and telephone. Please note that the hotel does not have a lift.
