Discover the beauty of delightful Carinthia in southern Austria. From your lovely lakeside resort, our super included excursions will show you the very best of this charming region, with its sparkling lakes, snow-capped mountains, fairy tale castles and charming towns.
Staying on lovely Lake Millstatt, you'll enjoy a wonderful setting. Our excursions explore the charms of Austria's most southerly province, as well as its Italian and Slovenian neighbours. Lake Bled - A full day tour around the spectacular Karawanken mountains, visiting outstandingly beautiful Lake Bled and Kranjska Gora in Slovenia. Nockalm Mountain Road - A scenic drive along this mountain road within the Nock Mountains National Park. On the way back, we stop to explore the delightful old spa town of Bad Kleinkirchheim (three-quarter day). Malta Valley & Kölnbrein Damm - A spectacular half day excursion along the Malta Alpine Road set against the backdrop of the Hohe Tauern mountains. DAY 9 - Time to retrace your journey back A to northern France for a final overnight stay on a bed and breakfast basis. DAY 10 - Continue to Calais for a late afternoon A crossing back to UK, returning to your original departure point in the evening. YOUR HOTEL You will stay in the excellent family-run Hotel Moserhof in the centre of Seeboden, a few minutes' walk from the shores of Lake Millstatt. Amenities include a bar, restaurant, TV room, lift, plus fitness centre with indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam bath, solarium and exercise room. All bedrooms feature private facilities, radio, telephone, hairdryer, satellite TV and most have a balcony.

YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Local departure and a mid-morning A crossing to Calais. Continue through northern France to the Strasbourg area for an overnight stay on a bed and breakfast basis. DAY 2 - Continue south-east through Germany A and into Austria at Salzburg, arriving in the evening at your lakeside resort of Seeboden or a seven night stay. Enjoy a welcome drink and dinner. DAYS 3 TO 8 - Relax or join in our exciting A programme of included and optional activities and excursions: The following excursions are included: Seeboden - Known as `the gateway to Lake Millstatt', our morning orientation tour introduces you to the spacious parks, the Japanese garden and medieval Sommeregg Castle. Carinthian Lakes - A full day tour featuring some of the area's most beautiful scenery such as Lake Ossiacher, one of the warmest lakes, where it is claimed the water is pure enough to drink. The lively town of Villach has a Mediterranean feel and is well-known for its thermal baths. The Mittagskogel cliffs are an imposing backdrop for the crystal clear, blue water of picturesque Lake Faaker, Austria's most southerly lake. A highlight of the tour is a visit to the Pyramidenkogel Observation Tower near Lake Wörther, for fabulous views over the whole region (small extra charge). Spittal an der Drau - Our half day excursion includes a guided walking tour of this historic town to see all the main attractions and soak up the cultural atmosphere. The following excursions are optional: Cruise on Lake Millstatt - One of the best ways to appreciate the panoramic views of lovely Lake Millstatt. Snow-capped mountains form a dramatic backdrop to the lush green forests, flower-strewn meadows and picturesque villages, including the historic town of Millstatt.
