It is said that the history of France is written in her gardens and this is reflected in the many different styles to be found, from grand palace estates to small private gardens such as Monet's at Giverny. This is one of our most popular short breaks, enjoyed by many Travelsphere customers.
We include a three-quarter day in Giverny and there are super tours available to Le Bois des Moutiers and Honfleur, where impressionist painters met and developed their distinctive style. YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Local departure and a mid-morning A crossing to Calais. Late afternoon arrival at your hotel for a four night stay. DAYS 2 to 4 - Free to relax and enjoy our A excursion programme. The following excursion is included: Monet's Garden - A three-quarter day excursion including entrance to the beautiful house and gardens of the famous artist Claude Monet at Giverny. Monet planted and painted here from 1883 to 1926 and the garden is most famous for its water lily pool, the inspiration for one of his best known works. Don't miss the beautiful Japanese bridge and other delightful features. The following excursions are optional: Honfleur - Three-quarter day tour visiting this picturesque fishing port, where in the 19th century many of the impressionist painters met. Dieppe & Le Bois de Moutiers - Full day tour visiting the seaside resort of Dieppe before continuing to the impressive garden of Le Bois de Moutiers, which features an extensive collection of rare trees and shrubs from all over the world. (5 day holiday only.) DAY 5 - Depart after breakfast for a late A afternoon crossing back to the UK and continue to your original departure point.
4 DAY OPTION
For a shorter break, book our four day option. You'll spend three nights at the hotel, with an included full day visiting the gardens at Giverny. You can also take our optional excursion to Honfleur, before returning to the UK on Day 4.

YOUR HOTEL On our three night break you will stay in comfortable hotels such as the Kyriad on the outskirts of Evreux and on our four night break, hotels such as the Ibis on the outskirts of Rouen. All hotels are conveniently located for our excursion programme. Hotels are medium grade and feature bar/restaurant. All bedrooms have private facilities, TV and telephone.
