DAY 1 - Local departure and a mid-morning A crossing to Calais. Evening arrival in Rüdesheim for a four night stay. DAY 2 - Today you are at leisure in Rüdesheim. A Enjoy the atmosphere of this vibrant wineproducing town on the banks of the Rhine; perhaps take the cable car to the imposing Niederwald monument, which provides tremendous views over the Rhine. Additionally you could visit Siegfried's Music Cabinet or the Asbach Distillery or simply take a stroll around the quaint streets and down the famous narrow street of Drosselgasse, with its choice of bars and cafés. In the evening we include a wine tasting. DAY 3 - Included full day excursion to the A fairy tale city of Heidelberg which enjoys a picturesque setting on the banks of the River Neckar. It is dominated by the impressive hillside
Heidelberg Castle and home to one of the oldest universities in Germany. We include a guided tour of the old town and you'll have free time to explore this fascinating city further at your own pace. DAY 4 - Included full day scenic excursion A through the Hunsrück Mountains, passing through Bad Kreuznach, where there will be a short stop before continuing to the scenic Moselle Valley and the wine village of Cochem, home to the imposing Cochem Castle. We return to the Rhine Valley via Koblenz, where you'll find the Deutsches Eck (confluence of the Rhine & Moselle). DAY 5 - Depart after breakfast for a late A afternoon crossing back to the UK. Return to your original departure point in the evening. YOUR HOTEL You will stay in the comfortable medium grade Hotel Rose just a few minutes walk from the Drosselgasse. Run by the Bertram family, amenities include a restaurant, bar, lift and all bedrooms have private facilities.
