Join us on this marvellous break in Holland, based in the charming seaside town of Noordwijk and featuring an included excursion to vibrant Amsterdam, a city teeming with culture and history, lined with picturesque canals and filled with super bars and restaurants. With an optional excursion to the fishing village of Volendam, this wonderful break offers excellent value-for-money in a fascinating country.
The popular seaside resort of Noordwijk has an 8 mile long beach, backed with sand dunes and woodland. The town itself has a charming atmosphere, with carefully-preserved architecture, including a lovingly restored church and patrician houses. Located 30 miles from Amsterdam, Noordwijk is the ideal location from where to explore Holland's cosmopolitan capital. YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Local departure and a mid-morning A crossing to Calais. Continue to Noordwijk and your hotel for a three night stay. Tonight dinner is included. DAY 2 - This morning there is an included full A day excursion to the unique city of Amsterdam, built on a network of canals and packed with places of interest. You'll see many of the main sights, such as Dam Square, home to the Royal Palace and Anne Frank's house, where the teenage diarist and her family were hidden during the Second World War. Your afternoon is free to explore this historic city further. Why not visit the Van Gogh Museum or the Rembrandt House Museum, home world-famous works of art. You have the option of returning to Noordwijk or staying in Amsterdam to enjoy this wonderful city by night. An optional canal cruise will also be available. DAY 3 - Join our optional three-quarter day tour A to the quaint fishing village of Volendam, where many residents still wear traditional costume. Take a look at some of the traditional aspects of Dutch life such as working windmills, as well as cheese and clog making, in this picturesque village with its beautifully kept harbour and pretty wooden cottages. Dinner is included this evening. DAY 4 - Departure for Calais and a late A afternoon crossing to the UK. Arrive at your original departure point in the evening. YOUR HOTEL You will stay in the comfortable Fletcher Bad Hotel Noordwijk, located just a few minutes walk from the beach in Noordwijk. Hotel amenities include a restaurant, lounge with bar and patio area. All bedrooms are comfortably furnished and have private facilities, TV and telephone.
