There's a super programme of included walks and cycle rides through the unspoilt countryside that will help you discover the best of this tranquil area, teeming with flora and fauna. The region truly is a hidden treasure, guaranteed to provide you with an enjoyable and refreshing break.
The village of Vierhouten is situated in the Gelderland province, a few miles from the Veluwemeer Lake. Your hotel offers easy access via a network of walking and cycle paths to the wonderful surroundings of the park a perfect base for your country break. YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Local departure and a mid-morning A crossing to Calais. Continue to your hotel in Vierhouten for a four night stay. DAY 2 - Free to relax and enjoy included walking A and cycling in the area. Hidden Village Walk - Join our leisurely morning walk through the surrounding countryside. The walk takes you through the woods to the Hidden Village, where a number of Jewish refugees were sheltered from the Nazis during World War II (approx. 2½ hours' walk). Forest Cycle Trail - A guided afternoon cycling tour through the woods to discover the area and its abundant wildlife (approx. 2½ hours' cycling). DAY 3 - Today enjoy your chosen included A excursion followed by our included evening walk: De Hoge Veluwe Walk - This half day excursion features a walk through the beautiful De Hoge Veluwe National Park, which contains one of the country's largest areas of woodland (approx. 2½ hours' walk). Alternatively join our cycling tour: Emst Cycle Trail - A cycling tour visiting nearby Emst. Here we stop at a candlemaker's to see the candles being made you can even have a go yourself! (approx. 3 hours' cycling). Evening walk - A walk through the woods with a local forester to discover more of the flora and fauna of the area, perhaps even catching a glimpse of a deer or wild boar (approx. 2 hours' walk). DAY 4 - Free to take a relaxing stroll, hire a bike A or join our optional excursion: YOUR HOTEL Accommodation is in the comfortable Hotel de Vossenberg in Vierhouten. The hotel is conveniently situated amid woodland a few miles from the Veluwemeer Lake. Facilities include a cosy restaurant, bar and sun terrace. All rooms feature private facilities, TV and telephone, and the majority are situated on the ground floor.

Walking Information
Our walks require a reasonable level of fitness and ideally some previous walking experience. You will need comfortable walking boots, a small rucksack, waterproofs, a hat and sunglasses. A local guide will also accompany you on your walks. Grade 1 Walks These are for anyone of any age. Plenty of rest stops and time to enjoy the local scenery with up to 4 hours walking a day, mostly on good paths but occasionally rough underfoot. Ascent less than 300m per day.
Amsterdam - A full day tour to this unique city packed with places of interest, such as the Palace on the Dam and the House of Anne Frank. You'll have plenty of time to explore and perhaps take a canal boat trip. DAY 5 - Time to leave Holland and journey back A to Calais for a late afternoon crossing to the UK, returning to your original departure point in the evening.
