A Taste of La Rioja Mini-Cruise
YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Set sail late afternoon from Plymouth for A your overnight crossing to Santander. DAY 2 - Early afternoon arrival in Santander, A where the port is located at the centre of the city. Included panoramic tour of the city, and a mini-train ride around the Peninsula de la Magdalena, before we drive to the fortified town of Aguilar de Campoo for a short stop. Continue to your hotel in Burgos for an overnight stay. Dinner is included tonight. DAY 3 - This morning take an optional guided A tour of Burgos, its outstanding cathedral and the Carthusian Monastery of Miraflores. This afternoon we leave Burgos and head to the impressive Monastery of San Millan de la Cogolla for a short visit, before continuing to the city of Logroño for a two night stay, one night half board and one night on a bed and breakfast basis. DAY 4 - Today there is a full day included A excursion along the Route of Rioja Wine. You will have a guided tour of Logroño, the capital of La Rioja, before moving on to the beautiful medieval hilltop town of Laguardia. This afternoon we visit the Marques de Riscal winery for a tasting and then continue to the quaint town of Haro. DAY 5 - Depart after breakfast for the journey to A Santander, where you will catch the ferry back to the UK. DAY 6 - Morning arrival in Plymouth. A YOUR HOTELS Accommodation is in good quality hotels throughout. Typical of the hotels we use are the Hotel Rice in Burgos and the Hotel Carlton Rioja in Logroño. Both hotels are centrally located, and feature a restaurant. All rooms have private facilities, TV and telephone.

DAY 5 - After breakfast, you are free to discover A more of Santander or join our optional morning tour to the picturesque medieval village of Santillana Del Mar. You will have free time to stroll the colourful streets and squares with their sandstone mansions, before rejoining the ship and setting sail on the return cruise this afternoon. DAY 6 - Morning arrival in Plymouth. A YOUR HOTEL You will stay at the Hotel Chiqui on El Sardinero beach in Santander. Hotel facilities include restaurant, piano-bar, cafeteria-terrace and gift shop. Most bedrooms are sea-facing and all have private facilities.
