Croatia is home to some of the most magnificent coastal scenery in Europe. Warm blue waters, a friendly welcome plus ancient history combine to make it a place like no other. Add in a superb hotel in the wonderful resort of Opatija on the Kvarner Peninsula and this is a holiday to remember.
YOUR RESORT Opatija has been a popular holiday resort since the 19th century and retains an unmistakable air of grandeur, with a lovely seafront promenade the Lungomare, marvellous gardens, marina, a good range of shops and a selection of restaurants and bars. It's the ideal place from which to discover the delights of Croatia's rugged Istrian Peninsula and nearby Slovenia. INCLUDED EXCURSIONS Rovinj & Porec - A full day excursion visiting the historic town of Rovinj, one of the prettiest in Europe. Enjoy the scenic panorama of the marina, the Old Town and Katerina Island. Then it's on to charming Porec, where you can watch the boats come and go and take a stroll thorough the quaint old quarter. Panorama Cruise - A lovely half day boat trip across the bay of Opatija to the village of Lovran for free time, before we cruise back across to Volosko and finally Opatija, allowing you beautiful views of the whole Riviera from the sea. The Islands of Krk - A three-quarter day excursion by boat to the marvellous island of Krk, where we have free time to explore the old fortified town. Then it's back on board for an included Captain's lunch of fish, salad and wine. Return cruise along the coast via Rijeka back to Opatija. YOUR HOTEL The splendid Hotel Grand is centrally located in the cosmopolitan resort of Opatija and close to the renowned Slatina beach. Surrounded by the beautiful St. Jacob's Park, the hotel benefits from an excellent range of amenities, including a restaurant, bar, terrace, poolside bar, café and lift. Situated within four attractive buildings, all bedrooms are comfortably furnished and feature private facilities, air-conditioning, satellite TV, minibar, safe, hairdryer and many have a sea view, balcony or terrace. The hotel also has a wellness centre with outdoor and indoor swimming pools, jacuzzi, saunas plus, at extra cost, solarium and beauty treatments. The restaurant offers buffet style meals with a good choice and there is occasional evening entertainment at the hotel.
