Travel by high-speed Eurostar and French TGV rail services to lovely Lake Annecy, which, with its clear blue waters and surrounding craggy mountains, enjoys one of the most attractive settings in Europe.
Enjoy a morning departure from London St. Pancras or Ebbsfleet on the Eurostar service to Lille (passengers in Leisure Select class will enjoy a meal and drinks served at their seat), where you change to a French TGV high-speed train for the southward journey to Lyon. Sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery as the TGV cruises effortlessly at up to186mph! gaze of Europe's highest mountain, Mont Blanc. We also include a memorable ride on the tramway to the fabulous Mer de Glace Glacier, literally a `sea of ice'. OPTIONAL EXCURSION Lake Geneva by coach & Yvoire - A full day excursion to the walled town of Yvoire, situated on Lake Geneva in France, where you can stroll through the narrow streets lined with medieval houses. From here enjoy a boat trip across the lake to the Swiss city of Geneva, with free time to browse in the elegant shops and perhaps photograph the city's famous landmark, Le Jet d'Eau. YOUR HOTEL You will stay in the town of Annecy in the comfortable medium grade Comfort Hotel or similar. All bedrooms feature private facilities, TV and telephone. Facilities include bar, breakfast area and lift.

From Lyon you will travel by `ordinary' train via Aix-les-Bains towards the Alps and Annecy. Your return journey will follow the same pattern. YOUR RESORT Annecy is one of the most charming and attractive towns in the Rhône, built on a maze of canals, with cobbled streets and old stone bridges. The old town is lined with cafés and restaurants in a traffic free environment, whilst cruises on the lake offer great views of the Alps overlooking the town.
