The spectacular sight of tens of thousands of butterflies collecting in trees happens just once a year. This superb pre-tour add-on is only available in conjuction with our 27 February departure.
YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Depart on your scheduled flight to Mexico City. On arrival transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. DAY 2 - After breakfast, you will drive to Zitacuaro, where every autumn millions of Monarch butterflies migrate to. On arrival transfer to the hotel for a three night stay. DAYS 3 & 4 - Take the short drive from the hotel to the National Park near Angangueo, the main congregation point of the butterflies. Each year in November, a new generation of Monarch make the journey south, collecting on the branches of oyamel trees for the winter, before heading north again in March. DAY 5 - Drive to Mexico City, joining the rest of the group on Day 1 of the main itinerary.

This is the ideal opportunity to visit Mexico's world-famous jet-set paradise. Blessed with year-round warmth, superb sandy beaches, azure seas and lush tropical vegetation, it has become a sophisticated resort with excellent restaurants, shops and night life in abundance.
YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - This will be Day 13 of your main itinerary. On arrival at Mexico City Airport. Connect with your next flight to Acapulco for a four night stay. DAYS 2 TO 4 - At leisure with optional excursions available such as the chance to see the worldfamous La Quebrada divers, who plunge from 150ft cliffs into the seemingly shallow waters below, a cruise around the coast and Mexican fiesta night. DAY 5 - Fly to Mexico City Airport for your flight back to the UK. DAY 6 - Arrival in the UK.
DAY 2 - An early transfer to the airport for your flight to Los Mochis and transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. DAY 3 - Board the train early morning bound for Posada Barrancas. Today's journey takes you through an area of exceptional beauty offering magnificent landscapes of great canyons and gorges, pine-clad slopes and deep rivers. It is a region of great cultural interest and home to the reclusive Tarahumara Indians. The train crosses the El Fuerte Bridge and climbs gently to the El Descanso Tunnel, at 6,000ft, emerging into the mountainous terrain of Copper Canyon country. The scenery becomes more dramatic as the train twists and turns through numerous tunnels and over bridges across canyons as it continues its ascent. Overnight stay in Copper Canyon. DAY 4 - Early risers can watch the sunrise over the canyon. Remainder of the morning free before reboarding the train for the final part of the journey via Creel, the highest elevation on the Copper Canyon line at over 8,000ft. Alight at Chihuahua for your final overnight stay. DAY 5 - Transfer to the airport for your return flight back to the UK via Mexico City. DAY 6 - Arrival in the UK.
