YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Depart on your scheduled flight to Lima, the capital of Peru. Late evening arrival. Transfer to the Hotel Jose Antonio for a three night stay. DAY 2 - Peru is a country that offers the visitor a wealth of landscapes, history and culture. The snow-capped peaks of the Andes, the architecture of the Incas and the vivid colours of the native Indians ensure a memorable visit. Lima was founded in 1535 by the Spanish Conquistador, Francisco Pizarro, and eventually became the capital of the whole Spanish colony in South America. Much of this colonial influence can still be seen today. Beautiful squares, fine churches and mansions remain little changed from the 17th century. Our included morning tour will introduce you to the City of Kings'. You will see the Cathedral located in the Plaza de Armas, the Archbishop's Palace and the Presidential Palace. Lima is home to many museums and this afternoon we have included a tour to the famous Gold Museum. DAY 3 - Today you can join a full day optional excursion of a flight over the Nazca Lines. These amazing shapes, lines and figures etched in the ground have remained an unexplained mystery for centuries and this is your opportunity to see them! DAY 4 - Free time before we fly to La Paz, the capital of Bolivia. Landlocked in the western part of South America, Bolivia is a country of superlatives. Straddling the Andes, it is a land of great mountains, volcanoes and fertile lowlands. Its native Indian population has preserved its culture and has hardly been touched by the European immigration that has affected so much of South America. Bolivia boasts the highest capital city in the world La Paz, and the highest navigable lake the renowned Lake Titicaca. Transfer to the Europa Hotel for a three night stay. DAY 5 - Situated at just under 12,000ft, La Paz offers more fascination and diversity than any other South American city. Here you will see local Indians in their colourful ponchos and bowler hats, a testimony to old traditions. A sightseeing tour of the city is included, and also a visit to the eerie Moon Valley. The evening will be spent at Casa del Corregidor where you will enjoy dinner and a night of traditional entertainment. DAY 6 - This morning we have included a visit to Tiwanaku, the most important archaeological site in Bolivia. Once the centre of one of the most ancient cultures in the Americas, the settlement was mysteriously abandoned in the 13th century. You will visit the monumental stone figures and the imposing Gate of the Sun which is thought to be a solar calendar. DAY 7 - Drive from La Paz to Lake Titicaca. The lake covers an area of 3,500 square miles and Lima Cuzco Lake Titicaca Puno BOLIVIA La Paz CHILE 138 To view dates & prices click here To book click here
