Here is an outstanding opportunity to take a leisurely train journey, with plenty of stops along the way, starting amongst the remote hill tribe villages of northern Thailand, and ending 1,600 miles later in the modern city state of Singapore. En route you visit Bangkok, Penang and Kuala Lumpur, and travel through the lush heartland of Malaysia. This is a journey of stark and absorbing contrasts between the old order of traditional Asia and today's Tiger' economy.
