In Delhi you will stay at the siddarth Hotel or similar and in Jaipur you will stay at the Clarks Amer Hotel. In Agra you will stay at the Hotel Clarks shiraz. In Colombo you will stay at the taj samudra and at Kandy you will stay at the topaz Hotel or similar. In Nuwara Eliya you will stay at the Grand or similar and at Beruwala you will stay at the riverina Hotel. All hotel rooms feature private facilities, air-conditioning, TV and telephone. Other hotel facilities include restaurant and bar.
Delhi Jaipur Agra
This fabulous holiday begins with the delights of northern India the historic grandeur of Delhi, the spectacular Taj Mahal in Agra, and Jaipur, exotic and colourful capital of Rajasthan. Then its on to wonderful Sri Lanka, rich in history and culture with superb sightseeing. This glorious island lies only 30 miles off the Indian sub-continent, surrounded by the deep blue, sparkling waters of the Indian Ocean. This truly rich experience will be a wonderful, lifelong memory.
YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Depart on your scheduled flight to delhi via Colombo. DAY 2 - Evening arrival in Delhi and transfer to the hotel for a two night stay. DAY 3 - Delhi is actually two cities Old and New Delhi. New Delhi is a spacious open imperial city created by the British as the capital of India in 1911. By contrast Old Delhi is a 17th century walled city with city gates, narrow alleys, the enormous Red Fort, temples, mosques and bazaars. Today we have included a full day sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi. In old delhi you will see the red Fort, Jami Masjid Mosque and the raj Ghat, the cremation grounds of Mahatma Gandhi, and the fabled street bazaar of Chandni Chowk. This afternoon its on to new delhi. You will visit Humayans tomb (aptly described as the predecessor of the Taj Mahal) and the Qtab Minar, one of the most impressive towers in the world. You will then drive through the diplomatic quarter seeing the official residence of the President and the indian Gate. DAY 4 - Depart for your scenic drive to Jaipur. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel for a two night stay. are visits to the City Palace and the Hawe Mahal (Palace of the Winds). DAY 6 - Drive to Agra and en route visit the deserted city of Fatehpur sikri, the graceful sandstone city built in 1569 by Emperor Akbar. Upon arrival in Agra, transfer to the hotel for a two night stay. DAY 7 - Today you will be taken on a sightseeing tour of Agra. You will also visit Agra Fort and see the exquisite Chowk Pearl Mosque and Jasmine tower. A visit to the tomb of emperor Akbar the Great at Sikandra is also included. This evening we have included a visit to the worldfamous taj Mahal. Situated on the banks of the Yumuna River, the Taj Mahal is a magnificent mausoleum built by the Emperor Shah Jehan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Twenty thousand men took twenty years to complete the worlds most extravagant and beautiful expression of one mans love for a woman. DAY 8 - We will drive to Delhi. Upon arrival transfer to the airport for your flight to Colombo, Sri Lanka. On arrival transfer to the hotel for a two night stay. DAY 9 - This morning a sightseeing tour of Colombo is included featuring visits to the commercial district called the Fort, Pettah and the Cinnamon Gardens. Afternoon at leisure in Colombo. DAY 10 - This morning you will drive to the Pinnawela elephant sanctuary, home to over 60 elephants, ranging from babies to the very old. The sanctuary, set in 25 acres of lush forest was
