ADD-ON photogenic with their black and white markings and waving striped tails, although the famous dancing sifaka lemurs are even more adorable with their soft-toy look and their comical behaviour. The brown lemurs are just as tame as the ring-tailed and are just as comfortable on the ground around people as they are up in the trees. You will also visit the Arembelo Museum and enjoy a guided night walk within the spiny forest to observe the nocturnal species: mouse lemurs, white-footed sportive lemurs, chameleons and over a 100 species of birds. DAY 5 - Depart Berenty and drive back to Fort Dauphin for an overnight stay. After lunch you will visit the botanical garden of Saiadi. DAY 6 - At leisure or, time permitting, enjoy an optional excursion such as a boat trip on Lakaro Bay, where you will travel from Lac Lanirano to Lac Ambavarano. Later you will transfer to the airport for your return flight to Antananarivo for an overnight stay. DAY 7 - This morning you will drive eastwards to Andasibe through a stunning landscape of highlands and rainforest. En route we call at Peyreras to visit a private farm, home to reptiles, insects and chameleons. On arrival in Andasibe transfer to your hotel for a two night stay. In the afternoon we include a visit to the lemur park of Vakona and at dusk take a guided night walk for spotting nocturnal species such as the Madagascar nightjar bird. DAY 8 - Join an included walk within the Analamazaotra Reserve, more commonly known as Perinet. This fascinating reserve is home to the largest of the lemur family, the Indri listen out for the spine tingling whale like calls as they signal to one another. You may also catch a glimpse of other lemur species such as grey bamboo and the eastern woolly lemur, as well as a variety of birds such as the couas, vangas, greenbuls and ground rollers. DAY 9 - Drive back to Antananarivo. Afternoon visit to the Artisan market of La Digue. Transfer to the airport for your evening return flight to the UK. DAY 10 - Arrival in the UK.
