Your Itinerary DAY 1 - This will be Day 11 of your main Namibia itinerary. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Cape Town. On arrival you will be met by your local representative. We include a city orientation tour, before continuing to your hotel for a three night stay on a bed and breakfast basis. DAYS 2 & 3 - At leisure to explore Cape Town or join one of our optional excursions to the winelands, a peninsula tour, a city tour including a trip to Table Mountain by cable car or a boat trip to Robben Island. DAY 4 - Afternoon transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. DAY 5 - Arrival in the UK. Your Hotels You will stay at the Cape Manor Hotel located in Sea Point. All rooms feature private facilities, air conditioning, TV and telephone. Hotel facilities include restaurant, bar and pool. For departure dates and prices see page 163.

Kalahari & Fish River Canyon

Your Itinerary En route you will have the chance to visit the Kavango Woodcarvers' Market. The traditional woodcarvers have been plying their trade for centuries, and this is the ideal opportunity to pick up some very special souvenirs of your visit. Dinner at the camp this evening. DAY 3 - Full day at Okonjima. Opportunity to take a guided game drive to track the leopards and take the Bushmans Trail to learn about the art of the traditional San people. DAY 4 - This morning you embark on your journey to Etosha taking you via Otjiwarongo and Tsumeb to Lake Otjikoto. The lake is the country's largest permanent body of water. Despite its relatively small diameter it is extraordinarily deep, and was used by German troops in World War I to dump artillery and ammunition. Continue to Mokuti Lodge, at the gates of Etosha National Park, for a two night stay. On arrival you will take a late afternoon game drive. Dinner at the lodge this evening. DAY 5 - A full day of game drives in Etosha National Park, one of the finest game reserves in the whole of southern Africa. The park is dominated by Etosha Pan, a salt pan with a distinctive green colour, and is home to a huge variety of mammals, including cheetah, zebra, elephant, giraffe, rhino and lion. Dinner at the lodge this evening. DAY 6 - Depart Etosha and drive via Outjo and Khorixas to Twyfelfontein Lodge, arriving late afternoon for an overnight stay. Dinner at the lodge this evening. DAY 7 - You will have the chance to explore the area famed for its collection of prehistoric rock paintings and engravings, and ancient abstract artefacts. You will also see the Organ Pipes a collection of bizarre basalt columns formed around 120 million years ago and Burnt Mountain, which reflects the early morning sunlight with a flame-like red colour. Continue to Uis, a small town that was formerly a centre for tin mining.You will then reach Swakopmund, formerly an important port and now Namibia's top resort. Remainder of the afternoon free. The next two nights are spent at the Strand Hotel or similar. DAY 8 - Drive to the nearby town of Walvis Bay for a morning cruise, a highlight of the holiday. Your boat takes you to Bird Island and across the lagoon to where inquisitive seals play amid the moored Russian trawlers. Cruise on to Pelican Point, accompanied by dolphins, to the seal colony. You will also spot a variety of birds, such as gannets, petrel oystercatchers and even the Jackass Penguin. Afternoon free with optional `sundowner' drive. DAY 9 - Depart Walvis Bay for the drive to Namib Naukluft Park. Part of the park is arid desert an eerie yet beautiful place of shifting dunes and stunted plants. Transfer to the Sossusvlei Lodge or Desert Homestead for a two night stay. Dinner at the lodge this evening. DAY 10 - This morning you visit the Sossusvlei, a large clay pan surrounded by imposing sand dunes. You will see Sesriem Canyon, formed over millions of years by the Tsauchab River. Afternoon free with optional `sundowner' drive. Dinner at the lodge this evening. DAY 11 - Leave Sossusvlei and return to Windhoek to connect with your return flight to the UK. DAY 12 - Arrival in the UK. DAY 1 - This will be Day 11 of your main Namibia itinerary. You will leave the main group after breakfast and depart from Sossusvlei for the drive via Rehoboth to the Kalahari Desert, an area of incredible natural beauty and infinite vastness. Overnight stay at the Auob Lodge or similar on the edge of the Kalahari Desert. DAY 2 - Today we visit Quiver Tree Forest to see the curious and picturesque trees. From here you continue to the Vogelstrasskluft Lodge for a two night stay. DAY 3 - Day of sightseeing at the Fish River Canyon, the second largest canyon in the world. DAY 4 - Depart after breakfast for the drive to Maltahöhe. En route stop off at Helmeringhausen for an optional lunch before continuing to the Namseb Game Lodge or similar. DAY 5 - After breakfast travel via Kalkrand and Rehoboth to the Okapuka Lodge or similar in the Windhoek area, for an overnight stay. DAY 6 - Morning at leisure or the chance to do some last minute shopping. Late afternoon transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. DAY 7 - Arrival in the UK. Your Hotels You will stay in comfortable lodges on a half board basis as detailed. Amenities include a bar and restaurant and all rooms feature private facilities.
