Mombasa Beach
DAY 3 - Morning drive to Amboseli National Park, located on the Tanzanian border. An included lunch at the Ol Tukai Lodge is followed by an afternoon game drive in the park. Amboseli is located in a beautiful setting beneath the snow-capped summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain. The park is well known for its fine elephant herds, buffalo and lion which wander freely, plus exotic birdlife. Overnight accommodation and dinner back at the lodge. DAY 4 - Early morning return to the park followed by breakfast. You will then be driven to Nairobi for an included lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant before continuing to Lake Elementaita Lodge located in the Great Rift Valley. The lodge was built in colonial style by an English settler and has wonderful views overlooking the lake. Accommodation has been arranged for two nights. DAY 5 - Early morning departure for the drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, once described by the American ornithologist, Roger Tory-Peterson as "the most fabulous bird spectacle in the world." Its lake plays host to lesser flamingos, pelicans, cormorants and terns. Although small in comparison to Kenya's other parks it has a huge concentration of game including lion, leopard, rhino and hyena. After a morning game drive lunch will be taken at the Lake Nakuru Lodge. In the afternoon enjoy a lakeshore game drive before returning to the Lake Elementaita Lodge in time for dinner. DAY 6 - Early morning start for the drive south-west through the Rift Valley to the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve, one of the world's most enthralling wildlife theatres and where much of the movie `Out of Africa' was filmed. The reserve is home to the `Big Five' lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo and each year is the spectacular setting for the great wildebeest and zebra migration. After an afternoon game drive you will return to the Mara Simba Lodge for a two night stay with dinner included this evening. DAY 7 - Early morning game drive and breakfast at the lodge or alternatively you can enjoy an optional balloon trip including sparkling wine breakfast (all extra cost). The remainder of your day is free to relax or join a final game drive. Lunch and dinner will be served at the lodge. DAY 8 - Morning departure for the drive to Nairobi. You will have the chance to freshen up and take refreshments before transferring to the airport for your flight to Mombasa. On arrival transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. DAY 9 - Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. Arrival in the UK is later the same day.
