YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Depart on your scheduled flight to the Seychelles. DAY 2 - Arrival on Mahé. Internal flight to Praslin. Here you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a four night stay. The Seychelles were originally settled by French planters in the early 18th century. The British took control in the early 19th century and ruled the 18th century. The British took control in the early 19th century and ruled the islands until independence was granted in 1976. DAY 3 - Enjoy an included visit to La Digue, considered to be one of the prettiest islands of the Seychelles. Here a slower pace of life awaits the visitor. Ox carts are the main form of transport around the island but bicycles can be hired so that you can explore at leisure. DAYS 4 & 5 - Free to relax and explore the island of Praslin at leisure. A variety of optional excursions will also be available. You can discover more of Praslin on a special tour which takes you to the Vallee de Mai, declared a World Heritage Site and home to the rare black parrot and the exotic coco-de-mer. For nature lovers, a visit to the islands of Curieuse and Cousin is a must. Curieuse is home to over 200 giant tortoises. The only other region in the world where these fascinating creatures can be seen in their natural habitat is the Galapagos Islands. Cousin Island is home to many rare birds and today is owned by the Council for Bird Preservation. It is an amazing experience to walk through the thick forests and see profusions of birds nesting on nearly every branch. DAY 6 - Transfer by catamaran to the island of Mahé. On arrival transfer to your hotel for a four night stay. Dinner is included this evening. DAY 7 - Included tour of Mahé. Your first stop is Victoria, capital of the Seychelles and the world's
smallest capital. Here you will see the antique clock tower, evidence of colonial days, and the bustling market. Continue to the historic Mission Lodge from where you can enjoy the best views of Mahé. A stop will be made at a tea plantation where there will be a special tasting and the opportunity to learn about how tea is produced. You will also visit the spice plantations and see how fragrant cardamom and cinnamon grow. Before returning to the hotel a stop will be made at a Craft Village where traditional artisans display their skills. Typical handicrafts include model boats, batik, jewellery and carved coconut ware. Lunch is included today. DAYS 8 & 9 - Free to relax and enjoy the facilities at your hotel. Alternatively you can join an optional excursion to Round Island, which lies within the waters of the protected St. Anne Marine National Park. The island features stunning beaches and coves for you to stroll around and explore. DAY 10 - Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. Early evening arrival in the UK.
