During your visit you can observe the baby elephants being fed from large feeding bottles and also watch them take their daily bath down in the river. You then continue your journey to Kandy. Situated at 1,600ft the picturesque lakeside city of Kandy is the centre of Sri Lankan culture. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel for a two night stay. Included Kandyan cultural dance this evening. DAY 11 - An included sightseeing tour of Kandy today takes in the Royal Botanical Gardens with its superb Orchid House. You will also see the Temple of the Tooth where the sacred tooth of the Buddha is housed in seven golden caskets. This evening a barbecue dinner is included. DAY 12 - Continue to the hill station of Nuwara Eliya. En route you will visit a tea plantation and the Ramboda waterfall. On this lovely drive you will see busy tea pickers on the vast plantations until you reach Nuwara Eliya. Tea or `green gold' as it is known gives
the island its second largest income. Upon arrival visit the Hakgala Gardens before transferring to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. Nuwara Eliya is Sri Lanka's finest hill resort set in the cool of a stunning mountain valley 6,000ft above sea level. Built by the British in the 19th century as a `home from home', its Tudor, Georgian and Victorian architecture, immaculate lawns with herbaceous borders and privet hedges resemble the English Lake District. DAY 13 - Morning departure for your scenic drive to the beach resort of Beruwala for a two night stay. Your journey will take in St. Clair, Devon Falls and Aberdeen Falls. DAY 14 - Free to relax on this beautiful stretch of Sri Lanka's coastline. DAY 15 - Morning transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. Arrival in the UK is later the same day.

This celebration sees the night lit up by spectacular processions, featuring dancers, performers, musicians and much more. Elephants play a large role and thousands of pilgrims follow the parades.
