DAY 7 - Today you will take an exciting included walk at the Hanging Bridges of Arenal, across suspension bridges and platforms. This marvellous experience offers a totally different perspective of the rainforest. Sunset visit to the hot springs of Tabacon for views of the Arenal Volcano. DAY 8 - Today you can take an optional morning river float along the Peñas Blancas River, through stunning scenery. This afternoon you'll take an included guided walk through the rainforest. DAY 9 - Travel to Rincon de la Vieja, one of Costa Rica's most impressive natural parks. At its heart is the incredible volcano of the same name. The volcano is still active and the area is marked with fumaroles, which vent steam and gas produced by the turmoil below, mud pools and hot springs. DAY 10 - This morning we include a guided walk in the National Park, along trails through forest and open ground. Time to spot the birds and the bubbling mud pools and vents along the way, and experience the natural wonder of this very special place. DAY 11 - Drive south to the Central Pacific Region and the coastal area of Tarcoles for a three night stay.
DAY 12 - Included morning excursion to the Carara National Park. The park is a major centre for ecological research and is one of the country's best areas for bird watching. Among the many species that call the park their home is the beautiful Scarlet Macaw. This afternoon join an optional tropical mangrove cruise along the Tarcoles River, where you'll be able to look out for iguanas and birds as well as crocodiles in their natural habitat, this area being famous for one of the world's largest crocodile populations in the wild. DAY 13 - Included visit to Manuel Antonio National Park on Costa Rica's Pacific coast. This is a beautiful and unspoilt reserve, where monkeys, toucans and many more wonderful creatures make their home. We include a guided walk along the trails through the park. You can then take time to wander through the village or maybe relax on the beach. DAY 14 - This morning we offer an optional excursion featuring a ride on the Rainforest Aerial Tram, offering wonderful views over the forest. Return to San José this afternoon and transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. DAY 15 - Arrival in the UK.
