DAY 5 - We include a half day boat trip along the Beagle Channel sailing close to small islands known for their birdlife and seals before continuing as far as the Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse. This extraordinary journey takes you as far south to the end of the world as it is, in normal circumstances, possible to go. DAY 6 - Transfer to the airport for your flight to El Calafate, Patagonia's capital of the glaciers for a three night stay. DAY 7 - Enjoy our included full day tour to the Perito Moreno Glacier. This awe-inspiring sheet of ice flows into the Lago Argentino, where its impressive face stands some 200 feet high. Watch in amazement as icebergs calve from the glacier to the accompaniment of thunderous booms and crashes. We include a walk to the base of the glacier, from where you can truly appreciate the monstrous size of this natural wonder. DAY 8 - Free to relax or join our optional excursion to Onelli and the Upsala Glacier, the largest continental glacier in the southern hemisphere. Cruise from Puerto Bandera by catamaran to view the north arm of the lake with its spectacular blue icebergs, glaciers and ancient forests. DAY 9 - Depart El Calafate and travel across the border into Chile and into the heart of the Torres del Paine National Park for a two night stay. DAY 10 - Today we include a full day excursion around Torres del Paine, an area of spectacular scenery, where jagged peaks reach towards the sky and icebergs cascade from the ice fields into the waters below. First we visit the Grey Lake, to admire the spectacular glacier and icebergs. Continue to the Big Waterfalls, serene Lake Nordenskjold, Amarga Lagoon and the Paine Waterfall. A boat trip and lunch are included. DAY 11 - Our included full day tour today takes you first to Ultima Esperanza, the `Inlet of Last Hope', where mighty glaciers flow inexorably into the icy waters. We include a boat trip along the Serrano River to the Balmaceda Glacier. Lunch is also included. Continue by Catamaran to Puerto Natales for an overnight stay. DAY 12 - Transfer to Punta Arenas. This fascinating city was once the staging post for voyages around the treacherous Cape Horn. The views from Cerro de la Cruz Hill are marvellous.We include a short city tour before continuing to the airport for your flight to Santiago, Chile's capital for an overnight stay. DAY 13 - Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. DAY 14 - Arrival in the UK. You will also visit the impressive waterfalls of Petrohue and the famous snowcapped Osorno Volcano which rises 8,500ft above sea level. On Day 12 of the main itinerary you will fly to Puerto Montt for a three night stay. You will stay overnight in Santiago before your return flight to the UK.
