Patagonia is one of the very last outposts where tourism has not yet left its mark. It stretches all the way south from Buenos Aires to the Strait of Magellan, with the Tierra del Fuego and fabled Cape Horn beyond. Charles Darwin famously explored this remote wilderness, amidst towering mountains, crystal lakes, astonishing glaciers and majestic icebergs. This captivating land at the southernmost end of the world is a wildlife watcher's dream, and in the far south, incredible fjords and glaciers evoke myth and magic. Visit now to capture the spirit of this unique and unspoilt wonderland of nature, untrodden by the masses and discovered only by the pioneering few. YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - Depart on your scheduled flight to Buenos Aires, Argentina. DAY 2 - Arrive in Buenos Aires for a two night stay. The rest of the day is free. DAY 3 - Situated on the estuary of the famous River Plate, glamorous Buenos Aires is widely considered to be the most elegant city in South America. Today we have included a tour of the city, featuring a visit to Plaza de Mayo, where you will find the Casa Rosada (Government House) as well as the Cathedral of Buenos Aires, housing the tomb of General San Martin, the hero and liberator of Argentina. You will also visit La Boca District, a thriving artists' colony, renowned for its brightly painted houses. It was here that the Tango was born. We also visit the Recolta Cemetery, famous for its beautiful family tombs and the burial place of Eva Peron. DAY 4 - Transfer to the airport for your flight to Ushuaia and a two night stay. The world's southernmost city, set on an archipelago between Cape Horn and the Strait of Magellan, Ushuaia is home to the Museum of the End of the World and is your gateway to the legendary Tierra del Fuego. Erstwhile land of gold-chasers, pirates, missionaries and scientists, this island was made famous by Charles Darwin's epic voyage on HMS Beagle in the 1830s. It is here, too, that political prisoners were held in the famous Presidio y Cárcel de Reincidentes the maximum-security prison up until 1947. This afternoon we include a tour of Lapataia National Park, including a guided walk. Visit Lapataia Bay and the end of the famous PanAmerican Highway, which stretches all the way from Alaska. This astonishing nature reserve has a huge variety of flora, fauna and over 200 bird species, including the majestic condor `King of the Andes'. The park also offers beautiful views across the Beagle Channel.
