This ADD-ON can be taken in conjunction with the following tour(s): Best of Thailand, Vietnam 16 day or Laos & the Mekong. Fly to Siem Reap for a two night stay with full sightseeing of all the principal temples and monuments at Angkor. You will also take a cruise on nearby Tonle Sap Lake to see the floating villages and rural Cambodian way of life. YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - For those on our Best of Thailand tour this will be Day 15 (page 38) of your itinerary. Drive from Pattaya to Bangkok for a late morning flight direct to Siem Reap. For those on our tour of Vietnam, this will be Day 15 (page 47). Transfer to Saigon airport for a late morning flight direct to Siem Reap, and two nights' accommodation at the Angkor Hotel or Angkor Paradise Hotel. Transfer to Bangkok airport for a late morning flight direct to Siem Reap. Your sightseeing programme will begin after lunch. Full sightseeing of the Angkor complex is included during your stay (see description opposite). DAY 2 - Continue Angkor sightseeing. This evening there will be a special dinner at a local restaurant accompanied by a display of Khmer Classical Dance. DAY 3 - Continue Angkor sightseeing. You will also drive to Tonle Sap Lake to take a boat trip to the remarkable floating villages. Late afternoon transfer to the airport for your return flight to Bangkok (Best of Thailand or Laos & the Mekong) or Saigon (Vietnam tours), for an overnight stay. DAY 4 - Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK as per your original itinerary. Following the recent opening of the river border between Cambodia and Vietnam, we can now offer a truly unique opportunity to travel up the River Mekong from its delta to Phnom Penh, then continue by air to the treasures of Angkor Wat. YOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 - For those on our sixteen day tour of Vietnam, this will be Day 14 (page 47) of your itinerary. Morning boat trip to the extraordinary floating market at Cai Rang. Return to Can Tho to explore this bustling township and important trading post on the busy Mekong. You then drive through traditional villages, settlements and farmland to Chau Doc, where you will board your cruise boat for the journey up river. After stops at the Vietnamese and Cambodian border stations you will arrive in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, in the late afternoon. Transfer to the Sunway Hotel for a two night stay. DAY 2 - Once considered the loveliest of the French-built cities in Indo-China, Phnom Penh is recovering rapidly from its turbulent past, and is a startling counterpoint to the urgency of Saigon. Full sightseeing will include the magnificent Royal Palace, with its Silver Pagoda, the National Museum, the waterfront, the Russian Market, the Wat Phnom and the General Market. Dinner will be at the fabled Foreign Correspondents' Club by the river. DAY 3 - Morning flight to Siem Reap and the start of a full, included sightseeing programme of the Angkor complex (see description opposite). Two nights' accommodation at the Angkor Hotel. DAYS 4 & 5 - Continue Angkor sightseeing. You will also drive to Tonle Sap Lake to take a boat trip to the remarkable floating villages, and enjoy a special dinner accompanied by a display of Khmer Classical Dance. Late afternoon transfer on Day 5 to the airport for your return flight to Saigon for a final overnight stay.
