yOUr ITINErAry dAy 1 UK/SpAIN Depart on your scheduled flight to barcelona, then transfer to your hotel in rosas for a six night stay. dAyS 2 TO 6 rOSAS Free to explore the quaint fishing town of Rosas, or enjoy our selection of included walks and activities. Aiguamolls Nature reserve Walk through the scenic Aiguamolls Nature Reserve, the second largest wetland in Catalonia, to the sea. Made up of a series of lakes, paddocks and meadows at the confluence of the Muga and Fluvià rivers, it is an excellent environment for waterbirds (approx. 3 hours walk). La Salud de Terrades to Les Escaules Our walk takes us from La Salud de Terrades through the forested Muga valley to the charming village of Les Escaules, where there is a delightful small waterfall. During the walk, sights include the Muga river and the imposing Pyrenees Mountains (approx. 3 hours walk). Cadaqués and port Lligat From Rosas we take the boat to the pretty village of Cadaqués, located on the Cap de Creus peninsula close to the border with France. On arrival we walk to the lighthouse along the Cami de Ronda coastal path and back to Cadaques, then on to Port Lligat to see Salvador Dalis house before returning to Rosas by boat (approx. 4 hours walk). barcelona This full day excursion to Barcelona, one of Europes most exciting cities, includes a guided tour, introducing you to the main sights. You will see Gaudís incredible Sagrada Familia and parc Güell, Montjuïc and the La Seu Cathedral. In the afternoon you are free to explore this fascinating city under your own steam. pyrenees Mountains Take a breathtaking train journey from ribes de Freser along a narrow-gauge railway on this splendid fullday excursion. We break for lunch (included) in Vall de Nuria before making our way back, stopping in the small town of Castelfolit de la roca, built on volcanic lava, and the medieval village of besalu. dAy 7 SpAIN/UK Transfer to Barcelona airport for your return flight to the UK. yOUr hOTEL: For 2008 departures you will stay in the comfortable, medium grade Hotel Mediterraneo in Rosas.
