For this superb tour, we have carefully chosen specific sections of the Wall for you to discover much about this masterpiece of ancient Chinese civilisation. yOUr ITINErAry dAy 1  UK/bEIJING Depart on your scheduled flight to beijing. dAy 2  bEIJING On arrival in Beijing, you will be met by our Tour Manager and transferred to your hotel for a two night stay. dAy 3  bEIJING Today you will enjoy an included full day Beijing sightseeing tour. Beijing is an extraordinary city. Ancient temples and palaces, with golden curved roofs and exquisite marble and jade, stand proudly beside the vast 20th century civic buildings created by Chairman Mao and his people. The heart of the city is Tian an Men Square, the largest public square in the world, bordered by the Qianmen Gate, the Great hall of the people, and the Gate of heavenly peace, which forms the entrance to the incredible Forbidden City. These magnificent buildings house the former Imperial palace, seat of the Chinese emperors for a thousand years. This evening there is a special peking duck dinner. dAy 4  GrEAT WALL Early this morning you will transfer to Beijing central railway station for the train to Qinghuangdao. On arrival your coach transfer will take you to Shanhaiguan. This is the point at which the Great Wall meets the sea. It juts out over 60ft into the ocean and is often referred to as Old Dragons Head. A visit to the Great Wall Museum is included. Overnight accommodation has been arranged close by. dAy 5  GrEAT WALL This morning it is time for your first steps on the Great Wall, which is some 3,800 miles long and dates back around 2,600 years. Today you will walk for around three to four hours along the Wall. In the afternoon you will transfer by coach to Zhun hua for a two night stay at the International Hotel Zhun Hua or similar. dAy 6  GrEAT WALL Transfer this morning to the Great Wall at Luo Wen yu. Today you will walk for two to three hours along the Wall, your destination being the Qu Ke yu. Afternoon visit to the Qing Tombs. dAy 7  GrEAT WALL Transfer to huang ya Guan for a short walk lasting around an hour and a half to Tai ping Zhai. Your overnight stay will be in Huang Ya Guan. dAy 8  GrEAT WALL This morning transfer to Ji Shan Ling. Today you will be walking for around four hours to Si Ma Ta. Architecturally the Wall here is delicately structured and unique in design. The 35 watchtowers are original and varied in form. Overnight accommodation at the Green Lake Hotel, Hai Rou Xian or similar. dAy 9  GrEAT WALL Todays walk begins in Mu Tian yu. This section of the wall served as the northern barrier in defence of the capital and the imperial tombs and was a place of military importance. The scenery is quite magnificent and much of the surrounding terrain is covered with plants and trees. On completion of the final walk you will be transferred to Beijing and back to the hotel for a two night stay. This evening there will be a special Mongolian Dinner. dAy 10  bEIJING enjoy a visit to the Summer palace, where you will find the largest and best preserved of all imperial palace gardens. You will continue to the world famous beijing Zoo to see the pandas. The rest of your day is at leisure. dAy 11  bEIJING/UK Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. As you will be flying westwards your arrival is later the same day. yOUr hOTELS: In Beijing you will stay at the Friendship Hotel, which offers a first class standard of accommodation. Whilst you are walking the Wall, accommodation will be in simple but comfortable hotels. All rooms feature private facilities.
